Hi there everyone! Finally I am taking part in a Lessology
challenge HERE !! So often I see their challenges & want to play
along but time gets the better of me and, with all my other
commitments, I never get to it!
This month I just KNEW I could do it because I had this old but
pretty mirror already waiting in the 'things to alter' cupboard.
(Yup I really do have a 'things to alter' cupboard even though I
don't go in there often enough!) & I was happy to be able to
bring it back to life with a makeover!!
I had the perfect stash to transform it too!
After creating the canvas, 2 layouts and a card for My
Creative Scrapbook I STILL HAD SO MUCH LEFT OVER!
I knew that I could use it here & give this mirror to my
eldest daughter for her new apartment next year.
First I smeared on white acrylic paint, using my fingers,
to tone the 'bubblegum pink' down some. Then I got out
my hot glue gun & started adhering everything.
I used the Prima Packaging from the Vintage Trinkets (fussy-cut,
gessoed over & inked around the edges). After gluing those to the
mirror I started layering up my embellishments of Prima flowers,
Webster's Pages stickers (ribbon-cut into banners) & trinkets.
I opened up the Prima Soprano flowers that come as buds
but can be prized open to be flatter & reveal their yellow
centres. I always cut off the green florist wire stems, after
untwisting them, then I curl them around a thin pencil
and add them back in to my bouquets as sprigs of greenery.
I used the beautiful big Maya Road Vintage Edge 'Mums'
& inked them up with dark brown, to add even more depth,
then applied white acrylic paint to them aswell.
I added the dots using Ranger Liquid Pearls then sealed the
entire frame (not the embellishment clusters) with a matt
varnish. Lastly I tucked in the sticker sentiments & some
misted gauze to fill in the gaps.
I was amazed at how quick this was to create compared
to making a layout. This took me less than an hour!

Looks great!
It's amazing that you made this in less then an hour. I love it! Susy (my wife) and I have always stuck to scrapbooking and cards only, but seeing something so cute it's hard not to be inspired. It looks 10 times better then before you started. I'm sure your eldest daughter loved it.
