Heidi's Scrapbooking Flower Tutorial

Thanks to Heidi, my very special bloggy friend for her fantastic flower tutorial. Over to her!

These flowers really are simple to make; are open to plenty of creativity and interpretation, according to taste … and do look very cool … so, deep breath, here goes …

FIRST STEP is to cut two flower shapes … one large, and one small … the colour choice is up to you … I would recommend finding something amongst your scraps, cos if you’re anything like me, you’ve got MORE THAN PLENTY of those … heehee …

Use … PUNCHES …

or … A TEMPLATE …

or … TRACE or HAND-DRAW the shapes, and cut out …

or … for a really distressed and funky look, be brave, and just TEAR the flowers …

SECOND STEP decorate the edges of your flower petals … I inked mine, but you could sand, curl, distress or edge with glitter, or just leave PLAIN – your choice…

You could then scrunch and sand flowers if you wish… or not … LOL

STEP THREE … DRAW a pattern of flower veins on the smaller flower …

STEP FOUR … Bend the flower petals UP or DOWNWARD at centre edge …

slightly WET the petals, then curl, backwards or forwards over a pencil, and set aside to dry … the wetting will allow them to retain their 3-D effect … (do not adjust your eyes … yep, the photo IS blurry … sorry!!LOL) …

now it is time to ASSEMBLE … adhere the big and small flower together, and add a centre … I have used a button here, but you could use a brad, or a small flower or a dot of kindyglitz …

FINALLY decorate your flower with an assortment of kaiser rhinestones … or dimensional magic … or glitter etc …

VIOLA … finished … adhere at will!!LOL
