I have made a small canvas as my contribution to the 'positivity' theme.
This is one of my favourite quotes of all time & a while ago I printed off a lot
of quotes & now have a stack of them ready to add to projects when needed.
I wish I knew who originally came up with this one.  Please do let me know
if you know!  It's a great reminder to us all as we go through our days...

I made this project out of an old canvas I was tired of.  I started by painting
the sides dark brown then I used Prima Soft Gloss Gel as a collage adhesive
to adhere the Artisan Parisian Leather paper to.  Isn't this paper too cool?!
Such an AWESOME texture but without the thickness of real leather.

I fussy cut a couple of lines of lock & key images from the Locksmith Paintables paper
& coloured them with Boysenberry & Gold Foil Color Bloom Sprays, adhering them
to my background together with some Prima flowers from the Victorian Christmas
collection, along with some printed leaves & misted lace flowers.
I also added some glitter & glass beads.  FUNNNNNNN!!!

I just LOVE this white mist I make up - for virtually no cost at all.

HERE IS THE MINI TUTORIAL!

GOT to love that!  All you need to do each time you create is add a half
pea-size teeny blob of any PRIMA WHITE GESSO OR MODELING PASTE
 {although obviously the thicker your product the more water you will need to add}
to a glass ramekin dish, spritz with quite a few squirts of water, stir with a small
brush then flick the paint off of your brush & onto your project by tapping the brush
with your index finger, so your newly-made mist flies off!  Don't forget to place a
piece of card over your photograph or any areas you don't want splashed with ink!

This mist is thicker than most, which is why it looks so opaque.
It doesn't work to make up a lot in advance & store in an
empty spray bottle as it clogs the nozzle - I've tried!

Isn't this giant flower just amazing?!?  She's called Patty.  Her resin face can be
recoloured.  She comes plain cream & you dress her up if desired.  I used my
Color Bloom Sprays to recolour her petals & LOVE how she looks now!
I used the soft gloss gel again to add glass beads & glitter to her too.

Cette toile est très réussie. J'aime le fond en simili-cuir et aussi le truc pour faire soi-même des mists. Bravo!

Helen,
A beautiful canvas and I love that you recycled something you were bored with! As always, your creation is wonderful and that leather paper is awesome - I need to order some - it looks quite real! Your color and arrangement is wonderful and love the splatters. I always love your sentiments - always very meaningful and, so often, have hit directly home! Thanks for sharing your process to!

Fabulous textures on your art work. I love the flower with its sunny face! Thanks so much for the tutorial on the opaque white splatters. Some whites are too transparent.

I love the sentiment that you chose!! I try to live by that motto every day of my life! Smiling at someone may be just what they need to have a good day and it may be the only smile they see all day or even all week!
There is always someone who is worse off than we are so instead of a pity party I choose to throw a PRETTY party!
YOur canvas is beautiful and I am a new blog follower!! TFS@!
