7 Dots Studio Challenge Sep/Oct - Frame it!
'Unique & Free' Layout

Hello Everyone!  Time for a new challenge at 7 Dots Studio!!  This time the theme is
FRAME IT & you can interpret this any way you like.  Although I did not add any
'literal' frames to my project I kept the theme in mind the whole time I was
creating & tried to 'frame' my photos within the centre of my page, using
stamps, drywall tape, stickers & die-cut elements.

I used white cardstock as my base, which I love to do, but often don't because,
crazy fact, white cardstock is THE most difficult to get hold of here in South
Africa :/  The photos are several years old & depict my son & his then best
friend, graffitiing our back wall.  My son went through a phase where he
loved graffiti art so of course I encouraged it & gave him his own wall!

I used elements from the Illumination Collection HERE as they are black & match
with everything!  I used stickers from the Soulmates Collection HERE because
they are a neutral stone colour so also great to match with many colourways!

I used Tsukineko Liquid Black ink because it is very dark & matt so very striking!
I used stamps from various 7 Dots Studio Collections as their stamps are really
awesome!  I used the text stamp from the Soulmates Collection HERE
because text stamps ALWAYS grab my attention - I just LOVE them -
& they kind of go with the graffiti/self-expression theme.

I also used some background stamps from the Illumination Collection HERE
& I also added a lovely big flair from the Destination Unknown Collection
HERE.  Apart from 7 Dots Studio Elements & ink splats I also added
some dry wall tape, staples & some pre-misted cardstock.

I'm preferring flatter layouts generally these days so haven't added
any bulky embellishments.  I also hand-journalled the story on some
more pre-misted cardstock (I keep it when I'm testing my mist colours!)

I hope that you will join in the challenge by entering ANY project using at least
ONE 7 Dots Studio product.  There is always one great prize for the merit winner!

You can view all the 7 Dots Studio products on their website HERE & order directly
from them or one of their retailers, for example The Flying Unicorn in the USA.

Thanks so much for your visit today!

Love the way you've got grunge and brights all mixed up in here! Looks fabulous....as does the drywall tape:):) And yep, white cardstock can be tricky to find even here at times. Too popular, that's the problem!!!

And would it be bad to say I have a huge block of oversize white cardstock that the kid brought home from the Art room as it was donated...I've been dipping into that...I have to cut it up myself, but it's like a block of it...I know, stop teasing!

Your page is beautiful and happy - I love the photos of your adorable son (all of your kids are so photogenic). Strangely enough, I think my fav thing on this layout is the hand journaling on the cardstock you used for mist testing. I love that!

A fabulous bright and fun page .. so cool!! You certainly are an amazing Mum letting your kids graffiti your walls and they did it so well too. Gorgeous colours and love how you 'framed' your photos without actually framing them .. love it!! xx
