Cape Town Layout for Scrap Around The WorldAugust Mood Board

Hi everyone!  Here is my take on the new August mood board up at 

Scrap Around The World yesterday!  I just LOVED this mood board.

  Very much ''my scene"!  The colours are beautiful as are the textures

& the travel theme is something universal that we all do at some time

or other so I do hope you will join us & it will be a popular challenge.  

These challenges provide the PERFECT opportunity to just kick back & use up your stash.

That is one of the things I LOVE about scrapbooking challenges that are not affiliated with

any manufacturer, as it's the time you can be free to use whatever you have lying around!

I used a sheet of white cardstock that I've been mopping up residual mists on for 

a while now so that was already "created"! Along with a bunch of old rub-ons -

 LOVE the effect of those!  Some copper wire & some paper from Echo Park. 

 VERY old as I haven't bought from them in years!

The photo is a mobile phone snap of 3 of the kids with hubby.  

Minus my younger daughter who can't open her eyes up for the camera

 in bright sunlight LOL!  So she was with me on the other side of the camera!!

I also added a strip of 4 photos of our trip.  Various road shots of the very scenic

 Cape.  If any of you ever visit South Africa, Cape Town should be the top of 

your list.  Well it always is for tourists.  Just come in the Summer as winter 

weather is rainy & cold so not much sight-seeing can be done then.  

Of course no page is complete without a Prima flower or 3.
The metal 'thread' is copper electrical wire & works GREAT

for this purpose as it holds it's shape.  Can be found in any

 hardware store {also used for hanging pictures the old fashioned way}.

For my texture I used stamps, rub-ons that were mangy so rather flaky 

{perfect!} resin dots & a light dry-brushing of gesso for a distressed look.  

The travel theme brad & typewriter key clip come from Prima & were

really ideal for this page.  The rubber circle is a Pink Paislee Artisan Element.
