Daisy Layout for Studio 75 using the Miss Olivia Collection

Hi everyone!  Just sharing my layout for the month up on the Studio 75 blog HERE
I had to use the Miss Olivia collection again, simply because I love it so much!
Now I am only left with off-cuts, but I can still make cards & tags!!  HA!!!

So let me walk you through my page...
The papers I have used are Miss Olivia 1 & 3.
You can view the entire collection HERE.
If you are a fan of SHABBY style you need this collection!

I love that the Studio 75 papers are so gentle & pale.
This makes for the perfect backdrop for dramatic clusters of embellishments.

What I like to do is cut my papers into strips, squares & rectangles, as well as
tearing some of them.  Before I place them I drop a small amount of gesso onto
the centre of my page & use an old credit card to spread it out over my page.
I love how this creates an ethereal look & automatically blends everything together.

As you can see above, I pull the card across up & down, vertically & horizontally,
with varying pressure, so that the gesso is thicker in some areas than others.
This gives a very artsy look, which is what I like for my style.

Next I place the first papers straight into the gesso, which acts as an adhesive
whilst it is still wet.  Then I layer my other papers on top using glue.

To make things more interesting I add a small amount of dry-wall tape, purchased
from the Hardware store very cheaply.  I cut it roughly, not straight.
It adds a great texture!  This time I also added some lace as it had daisy flowers
on it, & my page is about one of our cats, whose name is Daisy :)

I used some modeling paste with a delicate mask too, as well as some mists
& some micro beads for all the texture I love so much!  You can see above
the effect of these papers together & can still see the subtle designs
showing through.  That is the beauty of Studio 75 - it is not
overpowering which is what makes it so very beautiful!

I picked out the colours from the papers - mainly shades of orange & greens,
along with some neutrals, for my flowers & embellishments, as well as
some richer reds to tie in with my photograph & give some WOW! factor!!

Lastly I pushed in some fine metallic threads using my awl {spikey tool}
& anchored them down with some small pearls.  Life is in the details
so they say :)  Thank you for visiting today :)
