"You Make me Happy" Layout {Scrap Around The World} March Challenge 23 Plus some Layering Tips!

Hi there!  Time yet again for another awesome mood board challenge
from Scrap Around The World, my very owny own challenge site.
This time from Terhi Koskinen, who is such an up & coming
mover & shaker, who creates the most amazing creations!!
***PRIZES & SPONSOR DETAILS COMING UP TOMORROW***

The mood board was quite challenging for me, as I am quite a "busy" style
scrapper, but I am always grateful for the chance to simplify, as I actually
prefer the look of "less is more", I just struggle to achieve it!  Coupled
with the loss of my chevron stencil it was challenging!!

I do love challenges not connected with a manufacturer as you can really
just PLAY & use anything you like on your projects, which is a rare
 freedom for me these days.

I used papers from 7 Dots Destination Unknown Collection,
chipboard from 2 Crafty, flairs from UmWow Studio
& embellishments from Prima, Maya Road & MME.

I hope you will play along with us at SATW this year.
We have TWELVE prizes now & no matter your skills level,
you can still WIN the random prize or the Followers Competition
prize so snap over to the blog for more details on how to be a part of us!!

I created the bright yellow splats with pure Aladine ink from the dropper
& the white splats with acrylic paint & a coke bottle top {screw on},
after splattering my page with Prima "Precious Stone" Color Bloom spray.

I layered up my 2Crafty Chicken Wire chipboard, leaving the bottom ones
plain & glittering up the top ones with nail varnish.  No Stickles for me.
Works out cheaper for me here to buy Essence nail polish.

A little tip.  If I notice that my layers aren't really standing out enough
 from each other I just grab a small inkpad {Tsukineko Bronze usually}
& swipe it over the edges.

For this to be possible, & also to give your layers more of a natural, free
& easy look, do not adhere them down at the sides, save your adhesives
& staple them together first then adhere the back only, leaving about
an inch all around so you can tuck in elements if you want.

Or better still use a long-arm stapler if you own one.

I totally love this page Helen, the acid yellow against the grey looks so cool and the layering is perfect. Thanks for sharing your layering tips, that's a great idea to staple them together first, I must try that. I've taken to doodling around the edges of my layers at the moment. Hoping for some time to play this month, see you over at SATW :o)xxx

I love this, the stack with things tucked in, the splatters and circles. The chicken wire chipboard, thinking to my self, too bad the real stuff is too big, got tons...lol
