"The Glorious Pursuit of Life"Layout - Scrap Around The World April Challenge {Prima Cartographer}

Hello Everyone & Happy Saturday!
It's a VERY happy time for me as I have my 2 older children home from university for a few days.  Just a very short holiday but still wonderful to be able to see them every few months.
I have been hard at work giving one of our bedrooms a "re-do"for my younger daughter, who is now a teenager & needed more of a girly room as she used to share with her brother.  Pretty exhausting stuff DIYing as we did everything ourselves, including all the painting, with paint effects!  Suffice to say I've told her she better enjoy her room for the next 4 years at least!!

It's time for a NEW CHALLENGE at Scrap Around The World!
You can see challenge post & Design Team First Reveal HERE, where there is also a lot of information about the challenge & our challenge rules.  Definitely time for a reminder on those as it gets tricky for us judging, etc, when people don't follow them correctly so please check out that post yourselves & play along with us!  We have announced the winners HERE, along with our plans for next month - our EPIC First Anniversary Event!

--------------------------------

Here is my layout - without much of that lovely "turquoise mint teal" colour!
But remember SATW IS NOT A COLOUR CHALLENGE SITE.
I was inspired by the image of the cracks - they reminded me of a map -
and inspired me to use some Prima Cartographer paper for my base.
I also used a Prima Crackle Stencil with some black gesso over white gesso,
 to tie in with the crackle image & the black & white of 2 of the bottom images.

I also added some butterflies from the mood board & took the saying
 "don't overthink it - let it go" to heart when creating my page!

 I chose my younger son as my subject as his thinking is very much
 like that & he is a free spirit indeed!  I love the random result!!

I used real wire for the spiral effect around my photo.  It's narrow wire that
 is pre-twisted & is the perfect weight - bought from my local hardware store.

AS USUAL WE HAVE SOME AMAZING PRIZES ON OFFER & if you read our Winners' Post {link above} you will see why you can really boost your chances for our Epic Anniversary Competition by playing along this month too!
