'Walk with the Dreamers' Canvas - Lindy's Stamp Gang Colour Challenge - December 2013

Hi everyone!  Phew December has hit hard here - always seems to sneak up on me!!
Boy is it a busy time on ALL fronts.  Coupled with computer & internet problems
I have been sparse online - my apologies.  Too much work required in advance
at the moment for me to be able to relax & blog hop right now sadly...

You can read more about this challenge HERE.  When you are on the blog just click on the image at the top of the sidebar {like the one above} & it will take you straight to the post too.

There is a linky tool at the bottom of the post & a "Colour Challenge Info" tab at the top with the rules - all very simple!  There are always AWESOME PRIZES too!!

I got this in at the enth hour because...I was stumped!!  It doesn't usually happen to me but I looked and looked at this image for weeks & nothing came to me ;-p

The problem was - I do not use these colours - ever! Yet once I got going I created something I LOVE!!  That is why I love being on Design Teams & taking part in challenges!!!

I didn't want to create a scrapbook page as I knew it wouldn't match anything else in any of my albums, and I knew if I created an off-the-page project I'd not be able to put it  anywhere as it wouldn't match any of my home decor...

So I decided that I would make a gift for someone who would love these colours!  I started by finding a free background {by Googling "Pink & Blue Free Backgrounds"} {yes it's all very technical you know...} then saving the image, pulling it into Picasa, adding the text {a famous quote that I LOVE} then printing it out on my Canon Selphy!

I used Golden Hard Molding Paste through a few different Prima stencils, then dried it off using my heat gun, then started misting, using mists & water.  I used Starburst Sprays in Time Travel Teal, Magnolia Magenta Gold & Frozen Jack Frost.  The purple colour was created when the Teal & Magenta mixed!!  SCORE!!!

I also used some Lindy's Stamp Gang GLITTERS on the canvas {just rubbed on with my finger to shine things up a bit} as well as on the wooden Prima feathers used in my embellishment cluster here.  I chose Time Travel Teal, Silver Moon, Steel Shimmer & Brocade.  If you don't have any Lindy's Stamp Gang products you are seriously missing out!  I have NEVER heard anyone talk badly about them - you can shop right HERE!

For the very dimensional dots you see above I used an old piece of foam from my Ranger's Pop Dots {the negative sheet} & just LOVE how it created such deep dots!!  I also used a lovely Ingvild Bolme {for Prima} resin bridge, which I rubbed over with glitter too.  I sealed everything except the flowers & peacock feathers with Gel Medium.

To embellish I used some Prima flowers, wood embellishments & clear plastic pebbles.  From my friend Mitra in the States I used a silver doily & some genuine peacock feathers.  I made this canvas for my friend Keren Tamir in Canada because I think the colours are perfect for her {yes a little bright perhaps but she knows that's "me"!} & because I also think that she will LOVE the quote!!  We have been through a lot together 'behind the scenes' & I hope she will ♥ this as much as I ♥ her :)

Before reading that this was for me, I knew you meant me because I love bright colours especially in the blue hues and because I love the quote of course. it is so true and I'm so happy that we get to walk along each other's paths. I'm truly happy to consider you my friend and I thank you every day not only for this beautiful gift but for the beautify soul that you are and that you chose to walk along with me and hold my hand when I needed you.

This is such a beautiful gift for such a beautiful lady! Keren is so sweet and true. The quote is something I am going to save, it speaks to the soul. I love that you challenged yourself with these colors. It's beautifully done by a wonderful person!

Absolutely beautiful, Helen...the textures & colours look amazing, and the quote you've used is the perfect finishing touch. It is obvious between the words of both yourself & Keren that you have formed a lovely friendship together...which is just one of the things that I love about this crafting hobby we all love so much, the many friendships that are born, even from the other side of the world!. Enjoy your gift Keren!
