"Two Sisters One Heart" {Lindy's Stamp Gang November Colour Challenge}

Every month, at Lindy's Stamp Gang, we have a Colour Challenge running.  Play along using products from Lindy's - link them to the store - and you are in with a chance to win one of THREE $50 gift certificates!  I'm sure you'll agree that prize is uber-generous!!

And DID YOU KNOW!  that EVERY Friday we have a "Featured Friday" post where a few projects are selected & shown on the blog, together with your name & link back to your own personal blog, & those chosen win a 25% OFF voucher for their next purchase?

As it is, Lindy's prices are the best around & PERFECT for international shipping as they arrive in powder form & you JUST ADD WATER!  (Eliminating spillage & being lighter to ship!)  Shop HERE!

You can use all the colours if you like but it's only VITAL to use TWO.  I did the best with what I had but the green & blue did a fair bit of mixing LOL so I ended up with more of a jade in places ;-p  I used the red too but toned it down with white to keep everything nice & soft.  See the Design Team Reveal HERE.

My big daughter (on the left) is so excited to get this up into her bedroom at home (she's away at university most of the time) as it will match well with her decor scheme thank goodness!

The Lindy's Stamp Gang products I used are:-

Rusty Lantern Lime, Azure Sea Asters, Opal Sea Oats, Marigold Yellow Orange, Autumn Maple Crimson Starbursts {shimmery mists}.
Magic Moon Pearls & Desert Moon Turquoise Embossing Powders
& Industrial Chic Turquoise Glitter

This canvas measures 8 x 12 inches.
To create the texture I simply applied Hard Molding Paste with a palette knife & dried it off with my heat gun.  Once fully dry I started misting with my Starbursts & using my water spray to dilute my mists in places, turning & manipulating my canvas as I went along, to get everything flowing in the directions I wanted :)

Once I had dried my mists off I added some Lindy's Stamp Gang glitter for extra shimmer & a touch of grainy texture. To get it to stick I first sprayed with a spray adhesive.  I pressed my resin & metal embellishments into the left over mist on my craft mat & dabbed my flowers & twig heart with gesso to tone my colours down.

The heart I used was purchased from an interior decor store here
( a cheap chain - nothing fancy) & misted before adding molding paste for some lumpy texture then gesso for colour,
& attached using hot glue.

All my flowers & embellishments come from Prima Marketing - Anna Maria Collection, Vintage Vanity by Finnabair, and Ingvild Bolme (for Prima) Shabby Chic Treasures, plus Prima alphas too.

Here I'm just showing you the sides of my canvas.  Don't forget about them :)  They should be treated as you would the front, so that, when up on the wall, it doesn't look unfinished.

The white circles were applied by dipping the edge of a lid into a little white acrylic paint & slapping it onto the finished canvas.  I applied them as the "finishing touch" in 3 places.  Always good to get a visual triangle or two or three going on!
