This month I am the challenge host over at
Flourish With a Bling HERE.

The challenge is simple!

Helen's EASY Mixed Media Challenge

1.  Of course you must use some FWAB!
Which you can buy HERE.

2.  You need to use at least one wet medium
{for example paint, mist, ink}.

3.  You need to break out the stamps & use
at least ONE stamp on your project!

That's it!!

In return you can win a whole pack of FWAB product!
Then you will be able to enter many more of our challenges
without spending another cent!  Good deal?!  I think so!!

**To play along just follow the instructions above then upload your
creation into the Flourish with a Bling Gallery HERE into the
correct file (you will see a drop down menu then you need
to select) DT Helen Tilbury October Mixed Media Challenge ]
and YOU ARE ENTERED!**

I started by using gesso on my patterned paper, applied with an old credit card.  This is the quickest & easiest way to apply it - just blob it on your page directly by tipping the jar & adding it to the centre of your layout then spreading it out. This way there is minimal mess.  I reseal the jar immediately & wipe off the credit card with a baby wipe straight after use.

I used the Chloe Pearl Flourish in Olive Green, available HERE.
I almost always cut my flourishes up into smaller pieces to
suit the proportions of my page.  More economical too!!

The gorgeous black flowers, as well as the cream ones are also
available from FWAB!  They are a new release & they are lovely!!
You can buy the large black Madison Flowers in packs of 3 for
$3 HERE.  Such a reasonable price!  The cream Elise flowers are
slightly smaller, with a satin finish as opposed to the chiffon
finish of the larger Madison flowers, and are available in packs
of 4 for $3 HERE.  Tons of gorgeous colours to choose from too!!

My patterned papers, resin roses, stickers
& wooden ticket are all from Prima.

To add more of a mixed media look I added some metal mesh
{see above image} & some rubber mesh {see the image above
this one}, both of which I painted over with white acrylic paint.

I then also spritzed with some Lindy's Stamp Gang "Starbursts"
mists which changed some of the paint to lime yellow & green.

I layered underneath my photo with some old camera film, the two types of mesh, a couple of patterned paper prints plus some corrugated board that I dabbed with a Gold Ranger Paint Dabber.

I distressed the edges of my papers using my Making Memories
Distressing Tool.  I added a couple of big splodges of black
acrylic paint for dramatic effect.  Drying it off with a heat
gun close to the surface created the lovely crackled texture.
 Lastly I stamped the butterflies.

I hope that you will play along with my Mixed Media challenge at
Flourish With a Bling!  See the challenge post directly HERE.

If you haven't yet jumped on the Mixed Media Bandwagon
hop on board!!  It really is such fun & there are no mistakes!!

It's all just cool, playful fun & soon you will be feeling
like a kid in art class again!!  Play around & start experimenting
 - the more you do it the more you will LOVE it!!!

How cool to use the sweet Pixie Glen as your backing paper, smashing combo with the other striking acoûtrements in black and lime. Always a sucker for bling, the swirls are just soooo pretty. Hugs,
