Mixed Media Video Tutorial {Background Tutorial - Mottled Resist Technique}

Hello again everyone!  I hope you had a great Monday & are back into the swing of another working week.  Last week I shared this layout here with you for Lindy's Stamp Gang Colour Challenge & Design Team Call Audition & now I'm sharing the video that shows how I created the background, using plastic bags & a toothbrush!  Intrigued?!

One of their Design Team requirements is a monthly video so I had to bite the bullet,  overcome my video-phobia & get to grips with creating a basic technique tutorial.
 {Quite the learning curve but it was time!!}

 It was also incredibly fun & rewarding so I look forward to adding more videos
 to my You-Tube channel & would LOVE for you to subscribe to it HERE
  The direct link to the above layout is HERE.

I have a LONG way to go before I become proficient in this so please don't judge
 too harshly!!  I work in a VERY small studio so setting up my camera equipment
 & lighting was incredibly difficult & that lighting leaves a lot to be desired!
 Nonetheless the video does achieve it's objective & that is
to show a simple & cost effective technique.

I would love to know what you think so please watch if you have time.

Hubby & kids made it through & said time went quickly & it was interesting!
Plus you get to hear my weird accent that my son tells me sounds like
a cross between English & Australian.  {It is actually a Zimbabwean accent
as I was born & bred there - it is slightly different to a South African accent
 as Zimbabwe settlers were English not Dutch}.

Thank you for your visit ♥

Helen, what a wonderful video.. I think you did great for a first time. I love that there are videos out there for mixed media because it is something that I struggle with... I am a very linear, clean scrapper :O I love the look of mixed media but never seem to get it right... so I learned two things from your video... to use watercolour paper and to back it onto another piece of cardstock to flatten it again. Thank you :D subscribed - looking forward to the next one. <3

Fantastic video and layout Helen! Congrats! And thanks for explaining the accent - I must admit I was puzzling all the way through it. I couldn't work out why you sounded so English!

LOVED IT! Got a bit of that spray on order now from Amazon. I did notice you work a lot CLEANER than I do! I always end up covered!

I like the glue method too with the back of the sheet. I try to slide mine under the mat I work on and then pile things on top...I bet yours will work better! ;-)

Great job on the video. I want to give that a try myself. :-)

p.s. I always imagined you as a no-nonsense, kick-ass lady with a booming voice...LOL! Love your soft-spoken accent :)
