Happy end-of-the-month! Phew!! How has it FLOWN?!?
Still more layouts to share but I will have to roll
July into August- doesn't really matter I suppose...
I created this layout for Scrapmatts, where I had to use the chipboard embellishments from their Nautical Designs collection available HERE. Namely the ship's wheel, life ring & light house.
Cute embellishments but themed layouts don't fit my style
so I chose to work it another way. I came up with an
appropriate title as a message to my 18 year old son, who is
very typically 18 & dying to move out & live an independent life.
Of course this will include washing his own clothes, etc -
so I am looking forward to this progression next year
with great interest. Being my 2nd eldest I know he will
come home from his first university vacation with a
new-found gratitude for my domestic skills
- cannot WAIT!! {hehehe}
I mixed old & new Webster's Pages here. Fussy-cutting
that palm tree definitely classifies as one of the craziest
scrapbooking moves I've made. It took what felt like an
eternity but I guess one has to do it once in this life :)
I splattered some Tattered Angels "Driftwood" mist
around the page to keep it young, male & grungy :)
I painted the chipboard with white acrylic paint followed by
Ranger Distress Paint in Broken China, then sealed with
Ranger Crackle accents & hot shots of the heat gun for bubbles.
I love the Alison Kreft sticker sheet & the sentiments
& images definitely modernise the page I think.
It was all looking too clean for my liking so I stamped around
the edge of my page with a chevron stamp then went over that with
a Prima Crackle mask & Golden Modelling Paste, which I then flicked
over & used as a grungy stamp more towards the centre of the page.
It took the edge off the bold printed text paper & helped
the layers blend more seamlessly into one another.

Very Beautiful!
Holy cow Helen, I can't believe you cut that palm tree!!! But it looks awesome!!!! It is hard to see them spread their wings as a Mom, but we have to let go. (Patrick just moved out last month) and no matter how old they are they will always be our baby boys!!! So, your title is absolutely perfect. And what a gorgeous page!!!!
Ohhhhhhh this is gorgeous!!!! I love love love the colors, the title and loveeeee all the nautical goodies!!!!
Wow. That's a fun mix of colours and patterns! Fabulous! :)
great photo arrangement. You have put so much in this I love it. x
Now I know why you put up that palm tree comment on FB.....soo much patience!!! Worth it, though, I think....sooo another one will leave home - but no til next year??? I guess it's the nature of the game of life, nothing stays the same & I'm sure he appreciates you VERY much NOW....eh?!!!!
Love the palm tree! Very pretty! I really enjoyed the story you told along with this page!
Lovely layout and I love the sentiment. It is never easy to watch your kids fly the coop. It is a huge learning curve again. Love this layout.
Your title sure caught my attention, Helen!!! Love the fussy-cut palm tree. Karishnu started full-day school this year and I had mixed feelings about it...I guess they would always be our little boys :)
Wow!!!!!!!!!! This is so fun, so whimsical looking.....a true summer feel to it....brilliantly done!
