'Love is All You Need' Layout {Scrap Around The World} Bo-Bunny & Scrapmatts

This is my design team layout for Scrap Around the World this month using the sketch & mood board below.

I was super inspired by this pretty mood board!  Particularly the soft colours, that pale beige, awesome aqua & vintage brown.  Once I decided on what paper collection to use everything fell into place based on that.  I loved making the banner using an ombre paint/inking technique in keeping with Image 5, which also inspired my use of old book paper, which I scrunched up & used to interpret the elements under the photograph in the sketch.

I'm preferring paler, more neutral & 'whited-out' creations lately.

I've noticed a lot of this type of edging around recently - thanks to Finnabair's workshops, so gave it a try - various different punches, inking & laces peeking out from beneath.

The lovely chipboard words come from Scrapmatts & are available from their online store.  I inked up their edges with dark brown & dabbed the tops with pink.

I used bling from Flourish with a Bling - some leftovers from the Scrapmatts product swap.  All papers & fussy-cut elements come from Bo Bunny's 'Gabrielle' line (one of my old favourites).

That awesome banner above comes from Scrapmatts too - I painted it with gesso then dried it with a heat gun to give it the bubbly texture - then inked with pink for the ombre effect.

The banner comes without the holes but they were easy to add with my craft hammer & old eyelet tool :).  I threaded some string through the banner, knotting it & inking it randomly.

I used some authentic old dictionary pages in place of the elements beneath the photo (in the sketch).  I inked & scrunched them & they tore easily as they were so brittle.

I placed 3D tape all over the back of my photo to provide an acid-free layer between the old book   paper & the photograph to avoid it getting eaten away over time.  I punched the photograph directly using my new Martha Stewart Heart punch - a new favourite ♥

As always , Helen, you've provided lots of great tips. I'm glad that I am not the only one who still cares about items being acid free.

Such an amazing page! I always take great care of using only acid-free items, then recently discovered that my photos were printed on paper that has quite acidic coating :(!

OH I've been waiting to see the close ups on this one. I knew it was going to super detailed and awesome. I like the washed out effect, not sure I can pull it off though, like my brights too much atm. I tried it a couple of months ago for SM magazine, still not sure how successful it was. ;) Cheers.
