'You at 13' Layout {My Creative Scrapbook } Prima Lyric Collection

Well here we are at last!  It has taken me the last 5 hours to connect to the internet via my 3G card that has finally started working again after 5 hours of almost continual reinsertion.  My ADSL landline has been problematic for the last 2 months & we have reported it a bajillion times.

A very frustrating evening where I have got absolutely nothing else achieved.  The only internet service provider that covers our area has proved itself incapable of providing us with 24 hour internet despite the fact that we pay for it so we just have to take what we can get as no amount of reporting has got the problem resolved thus far.  Hence my blog-hopping is practically impossible.

Here's my 2nd page created for My Creative Scrapbook using the latest kit I was sent (see HERE). I went for a neutral scheme with this page using a strong black border & distressing & heavily inking the edges of my page, tearing, folding & adhering to create some interesting folds & creases.

I fussy-cut the frame around my photographs then marked with a pencil where I knew my photos & frame would lie on the page then stamped with various shades of brown ink using the border scroll stamp that came with the kit.

I used white acrylic paint on a sponge to add all the splashes of white you see around the page & on the elements.

I fussy-cut the framework for the photo out of a sheet of Prima Lyric patterned paper using my Exacto knife & used various Lyric stickers & chipboard elements on my page.

I adore the Prima metal embellishments - see the metal clockface tucked underneath the flower cluster above.  I use Tombo Mono adhesive to adhere.  They are great for making a page look more masculine.

Thank you for your visit today :)

Lovely neutral toned layout Helen - I would have trouble with this colour but you've nailed it. Gorgeous work.

Love, love the colours and how you used the various elements... stunning Helen. I feel for you with your internet issues, must be way beyond frustrating....
Only one internet provider, lets hope that someone takes that under their hat and competition begins... they would make a massive profit I am sure!

What a beautiful page. I love all the distressing on here!!

I can completely empathize with you on the internet. Our service isn't the best either. And they have a monopoly on it too. It is either the phone company who nickel and dimes you to death or the cable co. with their exceedingly high monthly charges. We need more options. Something to make it more competitive, and drive the prices down and maybe the service would be better because we could go elsewhere if it didn't.
