Hi again. Hope you are all doing well this week! Today I'm here
It's a stunning magazine with a beautiful blog & the prize for the
best layout is a Guest Designer position next month so I thought it
was an opportunity too good to pass up :)
I hope I'm still in with a chance as they said they take a look
AROUND the 20th of the month - well today is the 21st I
know, so let's hope! Last night it was impossible for me
to get online as our internet was down...again...
I am still working my way through a very large packet of Prima
papers, some of them dating back to 2009! I used older papers here
together with some newer ones, which is the way to go about it.
The base paper is from the Paradise City Collection (Island Beauty)
from 2009!! Thank Goodness the B sides are always less distinct
& more timeless :) The border edge paper is from the Flights of
Fancy Collection (Ladybug) but is not much recognisable after
gessoing, inking & stamping.
I tried out an unusual border treatment for the edge of my layout, tearing gently all around the edge then using the torn strips (the opposite/reverse side) adhered under the original torn piece (the
main piece) but inked up with pink. I really like the soft look that this creates.
Then I stamped the edges with a Carte Postal/Script stamp from Kaisercraft (they have a large range of inexpensive stamps that are AWESOME to use on backgrounds).
I fussy-cut a sheet of 'Rondelle' from 2012 (Pavanne), together with some large blooms from 'Blooming Retro' (Apple Tree) from 2010 & some smaller pink blooms from 'Songbird' ((Zephyr) 2012.
The photo mat is cut from the Shabby Chic Collection (My Lovely) & the stickers I used are bang up to date from this year's Lyric, so all in all there are SEVEN Prima Collections represented here, spanning the last FIVE years.
I used dark brown, black, red & green ink which I then toned down with gesso. I also used metallic bronze & copper Versa Color inks which are AMAZING quality. Black 'Charcoal' mist from Maya Road & 'Heirloom Gold' mist from Ranger (Perfect Pearls) which has a really sparkly shine, as well as Maya Road 'Pink Ginger' mist for the drips plus coffee to dye my doily :)
Additional items used are locally purchased rub-ons from my stash (Scrapbook King), Zva Creative Bling, a Bo Bunny Doily, my 12" Chicken Wire stencil from The Crafter's Workshop, old dictionary pages (I appropriately chose the headings 'Victim' & 'Lunacy' in keeping with the 'Young Love' theme) heehee. Plus a Purple Pumpkin Suede button that I cut into 2 pieces & used on either side of my layout, and a Purple Pumpkin button with music notes.
I chose the quote 'One Moment of True Happiness is worth all the Moments of Pain' that I adapted from a quote I found online, as these two have fun together, interspersed with a lot of silly arguments...
