'Lovely Memories' Layout - My Creative Scrapbook {Guest Designer for The Color Room} Plus my Mist Recommendation

Hi there!  Some fun news!!   The designers from My Creative Scrapbook were invited to collaborate with The Color Room this month as they are the official sponsors for May.

It's been a long while since my days designing for Color Combos Galore & I don't think
I've completed a colour challenge since then!  Picture
I found some grey-blue cardstock in my stash that's definitely been there at least 4 years...
Colour Challenges are undoubtedly a great way to get your rooting through your stash!

I used papers from 7 Dots 'Domestic Goddess' collection - perfect colours for this palette!

Bling courtesy of Zva Creative where I am Guest Designing at present (See my introduction HERE). Flowers are from Purple Pumpkin (I combined a ruffle flower with a yoyo flower).  The resin roses are also from Purple Pumpkin.

I used a giant chipboard clock piece from Scrapmatts, together with one of their new chipboard word releases -  'Memories'.  The lovely cord is from Canvas Corp.

I used various mists on the base paper - Charcoal (Maya Road), Pale Ale (Memories Mist), Sunshine (Tattered Angels) & Overdue (Mister Hueys by Studio Calico).

I own mists from every different mist manufacturer & the Studio Calico ones are the ONLY ones where I have NEVER had to unclog or exchange the nozzle/uptake straw.

They have a fantastic range of colours & their opacity is just perfect.  I'm a big fan - if you're just starting out with mists I recommend buying directly from their online store.

This is a personal recommendation - I wish they were sending me lots of free mists for writing this but alas they aren't.  I'm just letting you know because you're my loyal blog readers so occasionally I tell you my secrets :)

Enjoy your weekend - thanks for the visit!

Your LO looks GREAT! Way to use up that old cardstock. And I love the giant chipboard clock--it definitely adds lots of va-va-voom to an already great page.

thank you for the advice, I only bought 2 mist, tattered angels, and one of them never worked!!
I had to put the mist on a garden "spruzzino" for water :)
next time I will try studio calico

Lovel, lovely page, as always full of wonderful colour and perfect details. Thanks for the 'mists' info. I too have a whole range from many different manufacturers, but only 2 from SC and must say never had a problem with them. xx

Funny how we go through 'seasons' of challenge sites....that's life, I guess!!! And I agree with SC EXCEPT I have had no luck with their white...otherwise, them & Dylusions are my 2 fave mists, especially for stronger colours...altho Heidi Swapp is cool cos of the shimmer...depends on the project, I guess:):) And I really was taken with your layered up PP flower. Looks magnificent:):) Gorgeous work as always, Helen!!!

Lovely page Helen. Beautiful use of colours and layering of flowers and elements. I have a large stash of mists from all lines, but I find most of them do in fact get clogged. I will check my Mr.Huey's to see if they are the exception. Thanks for sharing some of your secrets!

Nothing worse than clogged mist...sometimes I end up wearing it. I LOVE your color challenge page! And that orange makes me so happy! Cool Chippy too!
