'I Will Always Love You Thousands on the Road' Layout - My Creative Scrapbook - Prima Lyric

Hi :)  Still going with my 'My Creative Scrapbook'
Kit club pages shown altogether last week HERE.

This base paper began pale pink but as I wanted
to use it with a photo of my son I used modelling
paste, some stencils & mist to switch it up to green.

Lately I've been combining stencils & using numerous ones on a single page.  Not sure why I never thought of that before :/

To grunge things up a bit for a masculine layout I inked up the chipboard elements using Colorbox Dark Brown which I keep in my top drawer & use on practically every layout.

The strange title is meaningful to my son, who used to always tell me he loved me 'thousands on the road' when he was little.

I hand-cut the hearts out of one of the Prima patterned papers, after first drawing up a few simple templates onto printer paper, folding them in half to get both sides symmetrical.

I also added some pale pink misting for extra depth & some black mist splats for more male grunginess.

I added some white thread between my
 layers as it's a trend I ♥ right now.

Thank you for visiting today!

Wishing you all a wonderful week with a
little or a lot of creativity thrown in!!

Oh I just love those black hearts and the chevrons. Such a stand out page and I just love what this is about. Nothing beats the little things we say to our children or visa versa like this :)

I love the pattern you made with the hearts. It makes it look more masculine since they're black. This turned out really awesome.

I agree, it is so much fun to pull out theose stencils and use several of them at the same time. And hopefully the result turns out just the right kind of messy! Like here... Your page is gorgeous. I love the 'new colour' of the background and those black hearts. Such a cute boys page :-)

I love how you've made the background your own with stencils and modeling paste. The green really goes well with the black hearts. Love your attention to details with the sweet touch like the bird, the blooms, the thread and the inking!

Helen, thanks for sharing the deets on the heart treatment. That is what caught my eye when i googled your layout. Beauty!!! I have a stitched heart project I need to work on, so i will be trying out this printer technique, so much easier trying to get the hearts balanced. Humm, white thread between layers trend, i have seen it a few places, I guess i will have to give it a try. Lovely as usual.
