'Only Twelve' Layout - March My Creative Scrapbook Limited Edition Kit

Hi again :)  Here's a layout from the Limited Edition kit I got to work with last month at My Creative Scrapbook .   Click HERE to see the full range of what's available for purchase - don't forget to click the link there to the Limited Edition kits too - there's plenty for sale at my favourite kit club! ♥

This lovely paper from Kaisercraft does a lot of the work for you!  See that awesome design down the right, complete with paint drips?  Yup it comes just like that so no need to add more!  I begun by flicking Maya Road Charcoal mist over the page for some trendy black splats & left it at that!

I used two sheets of patterned paper & inked with black between the two.  I used my Liquid Pearls in 'Flamingo' all around the black border of my photo.  It takes overnight to dry so add the dots last - they are the perfect finishing touch. Black borders make for a funky look & are  easy to add in Picasa.

I used the Webster's resin oval frame to embellish with a bright turqoise Prima rose within & you can see I added the packaging from Prima again.  Can't resist!  It really is to gorgeous to dispose of and I ♥ the look it gives.

To overcome the problem of journaling on a printed paper I used the plainer text paper (seen at the top & bottom of the layout) & cut off one long strip, inked the edges with black then hand-journaled on it, cut it up then re-inked the sides.  This way the text is clearer & more visible, rather than getting 'lost' in the print.

I left the 'identification strip' on the bottom of my page (where the name of the paper/manufacturer is printed) (the reverse side of it which was printed with a line of butterflies).    So many papers these days have a pretty reverse side to the strip (remember the days when only Sassafras did that?) so it's a shame to waste it.  Just remember to allow for it by reducing the other side (the top of your layout) by 1cm to allow for it :)

Friday tomorrow!  Wow this week has just flown by!!
Thanks as always for visiting :)

Love how you've left the cut-off strip on your layout. Have a great day :)

Still got these papers unused, cannot bring myself to cut up the pack - not quite yet. The bright vibrant colours are so good for happy teen pages and as so many before me have written, Cami looks quite a bit older than her actual 12. So many fabulous page you have created with the kit!! Hugs,
