Creative Scrappers Blog Hop! Chives - One Cool Cat Layout {Dear Lizzy for American Crafts/Echo Park Sweet Summertime}

Welcome to the Creative Scrappers Blog Hop!

You may have come here on your own, or maybe you hopped on by from another team members blog.. either way WELCOME! We are so excited to be showing off some of our favourite Creative Scrappers Sketches and Layouts and not only can you participate in our blog hop  - you have a chance to win Creative Scrappers ebook of Sketches " Creating with Sketches " by Kristine Davidson.

*****You can win an E BOOK from ME as well as a RAK - so I have 2 prizes on offer today!*****

I never got around to having my usual monthly RAK in August so this RAK is in place of that.

In order to be eligible for either the E BOOK or the RAK you need to BE or BECOME A FOLLOWER of my blog AND leave a comment on this post.

Spring has sprung in my part of the world {supposedly - it's pouring with rain today and averaged 17 degrees C} but last week, when I prepared this RAK it was sunny!!

SPRING RAK CONTENTS:-

Tim Holtz keys (bought 'specially for you!)
7 Gypsies Paper Clips (bought 'specially for you!)
Prima flourish (Last season but still yummy!!)
Wooden Fence (HOW cute is it?!?)
Les Papiers de Pandore stamp (I somehow ended up with 2?!?)
Hand-cut (by me!) flocked leaves, crocheted flowers & various blooms

Buy "Creating with Sketches" in Print or E Book format!

And there's the E Book you can win!  FULL of great sketches & inspirational interpretations as well as a layout from me :)  My layout today is taken from the E Book (Page 11 - the one interpreted by Jennifer Shaw) I am not at liberty to show the sketch here but if you have the book already you can check it out!

As this is a purely FUN blog hop I created a fun layout, with no agenda but scrapping for me.  I grabbed the first photo I could find & used Summer CHA paper from Dear Lizzy {Neopolitan} & embellishments from Echo Park 'Sweet Summertime'.

I used lots of gesso, staples, stitching & loose threads.

Everything was looking too flat so I added a remnant of bloomers floral tape from Webster's Pages {above} and my trademark flowers!

These papers are very 'crisp & clean' so needed the grunging up with the gesso and the apricot paint (applied with an old store card) to fit my style a bit more.

I love this photo of one of our 3 fur-babies - Chives!  Our cats are very anti-social so getting a nice photograph of them is not easy.

My sewing machine was playing up so I had a bunch of extra threads that I laid down underneath & around my flowers.  As Chives is a boy the staples & threads added a manly touch :)

I hope that you will hop around to the design team blogs for a chance to win more goodies.
Please leave a link to your blog on our main Creative Scrappers Blog Hop Post when you have completed the hop.  See below for the blog hop list :)

We hope you enjoy the hop! You have until Saturday September 8 to leave your comments with winners being announced on the Creative Scrappers blog on Monday September 10th. Now HOP on over to Ana Castro's  blog!! Good luck and happy hopping!

Hello Chives:) one very cool layout, for one cool cat! Funny, my cats have always been very social in their own ways. I wonder if it's got anything to do with climate, they come in and snuggle more over here? Cos when it's hot and balmy we see them less.interesting.
