Our Little Songbird Layout {Creative Scrappers Sketch 212} plus the new Design Team Announcement!

Did you see there is a new Design Team announced
at Creative Scrappers HERE?  And I am on it?!? Woohoo!!

I am so glad to be staying on another 3 months with Kristine,
who is such a lovely person and runs the site so well.
I strongly urge you to apply to the next call in 3 months
as the sketches are great and very varied and versatile.
They will certainly keep pushing the boundaries for you.

It is a great team to be a part of, no stress as it is very
well organised and Kristine has very realistic expectations
so there is no added pressure in our already crazy lives.

Here is the sketch!  Of course I thought Eeeeek!!
when I saw all those rectangles & I don't like to print
my photos out too small (although Instax photos would
have been perfect too!) but I managed 5 photos without
it all looking too cramped I think!

I defined each photo with a "museum matte" border and a
vignette in Picasa, then printed them off (as I do, at home
on my Epson printer) & cut them out with a white border
around them, so when they are piled on top of each other
they are clearly separate.

That gave it quite a graphic look so I went with it and used
a white base with a black border around my printed polka
dot paper, adding some border stickers from Echo Park &
October Afternoon & the blue lacy print from Kaisercraft.

The birds reinforce the singing theme & of course
flowers and bling were my choice of embellishments...

I used the white Petaloo flowers from the June ScrapThat!
kit and the blue/burgundy one is one from Prima that I recoloured.

I also recoloured the burgundy Prima flower that was
originally blue like the one above - just using mist.

The alphas are a mixture of Webster's Storytellers
from ScrapThat! June & Bo Bunny (yellow).

The journaling stickers are from Etsy and very handy indeed.

There is a kit prize this month from Boys Rule Scrapbook
Kits HERE (not necessarily this exact kit) but I do hope
that you will incorporate this sketch into your scrapping
this month & link up!  Have a good week everyone :)

Hello Helen,

This is a great scrap! I would like to be able to create such scraps at least half as beautiful as yours.

Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment :D
As you suggested, I added a translation gadget to my blog (in the right sidebar). Normally, I translate all big posts into English but maybe it will be useful also for not EN speakers. Thanks for your suggestion! :)

Cheers!
