Hi there everyone!
Hope you are well and you are bearing up through this
long week!! Seems to be going on forever!!! Still ploughing
on through my ScrapThat! layouts.
This one I did for my Polish friend Agnieszka here.
She made a layout for me using a photo of my daughter Cami
and we did a 'page swap' with me doing one of her daughter Alexis.
Finally I got to scrap a photo of someone in the snow!!!
I edited the photo with a lot of highlights & gave it an icy
blue vignette.
I used Webster's Pages "Messages to You" printed paper then
I fussy-cut the elements out of the "Glorious Day"
paper, inked heavily with Chestnut Roan & layered
them up over the heavy vintage-inspired lace down the side.
I used a great new glue that I have discovered,
to adhere the lace invisibly - it's called Fabri-Tac
by Beacon and I imported it online.
I also fussy-cut the blue design from "Little Bird told me"
& placed it at the top and again at the bottom of the photo.
I used flowers from the main kit and the flower add on
& my new Cheery Lynne "Olive leaf" die-cut branches.
The dark green around the photo is the reverse-side
of the identification strip from the base of one of the
papers, inked up with dark brown.
I adhered the alphas directly to the photograph
as there was enough "free" space to do it and
it's a great way of getting the photo to look like
an integral part of the whole design.
The "Glorious Day" sentiment peeking out from under the flower
is actually cut from the paper strip as it's the name of the paper.
Notice that pretty Prima genie stone dangling from
under the flower? I attached it with a small brad.
The dark green ribbon-cut piece is also from the
identification strip on the base of the patterned paper
& I have used it around the photo as a photo matt too.
This is actually a really simple page that has the
appearance of looking more complicated due to
the intricate designs on the paper.
