Bird is the Word {Wish} Layout

There's a new word up at Bird is the Word
and it's WISH!  How EASY is that to incorporate
into a layout?!  Easy-peasy so play along for a
chance to win the latest kit from Tidbitz in Time
and snag yourself a Winner's Badge if
your layout is judges as one of the top 5!

These days I am just feeling the need to pare
everything down for a more "slick" look -
I'm growing a bit weary of layouts that are
just "too" busy & I am also really conscious
(since I've been sorting all my pages out into
new albums) of the practical aspect of getting
all these pages into a viewable format &
having the albums hold at least 20 pages!

Do you know the song this line comes from?
Airplanes by B.O.B and Hayley Williams.
My kids are crazy about it right now
(even though it isn't that new!).
I thought the sentiment was perfect
for the photograph & the way
my son is feeling right now!

These Tim Holtz tags were just ideal obviously!

Finally I used one of my Maya Road
plastic doilies & am LOVING the look!

Still no printer so I am forced into a
hand-journaling phase! Can't stand it any longer
& am going to have to buy a new printer
this weekend if mine is still not repaired :(...

This is different for you but I like it, suits the masculine theme, the song, yes we have been singing that for a few months still sounds good though, take care, Doreen x

Gorgeous page Helen and the style is just perfect for boys photo. And your handwriting journalling is brilliant. I don't like mine too but always tend to handwrite and it gives a personal touch that will be appreciated by my children one day.
I love 'Wish' challenge, might play myself if get any chance for crafting any soon.

I loved the design of this and your eye is instantly drawn to your gorgeous photo because of the "black" space. I love the wish tags, the multi colored title and your handwritten journaling is beautiful. Great page.

I think I really loved the mixed fonts on this page combined with those solids and the black paper provides a nice contrast! Off to look up that song!

I totally agree with your words about simplicity and practicality. I am preferring really simple pages at the moment and can't believe the complex ones that appealed before. I guess it is a fashion thing too, but it is a 'needs must' thing as much as anything for me. I just find simple pages so much more appealing these days - and I love your layout:)

I think a lot of us could do with a wish right now too - but I don't think just one would do it.

Love the simplicity of this LO - and yes, the 'busy' ones are gorgeous but a real challenge to fit into binders!

And your handwriting is divine!

I have given up on albums completely LOL.

It's fun to experiment with different styles and I love what you have done with this more simply embellished page. Gorgeous!

Poor Reilly, it really is so difficult to be his age and have a chaos of questions and emotions ping-ponging. The photo is truly of star quality Helen, love the feel of vulnerability to it. Such a bold visual statement you're making with your clean and crisp page, I do admire this cleaner style of yours. WTG! xoxoxo
