September Sketch at Scrapbook Kits with Jules - Birthday Boy Layout - Glitz Design

Thank Goodness hubby is getting back today - it's been a long haul without him for 2 weeks & my most unproductive blogging-wise -although I have hardly had time to do anything - even sleep!
Last week my son got into some serious trouble that took days to sort out -
teenagers, who would 'ave 'em hey?!
Then one of them had a soccer injury so hours were spent at the hospital with that one...

Then we collected the missing link (aka my eldest daughter)
from the airport for her 10 day vac (as it's called here)
which is a strange name - as it's actually a 5 day vac - with a weekend on each end!
She is messier than the other 3 put together (and they ain't tidy!) so I seem to have done not much else
besides clean up then go back to begin, and clean up again....Gosh....

So that is what has been going down this side of town, now I have a tonne of work to share here -
somehow my hectic times are often my most productive - I just feel the need to get into my studio at the
end of a "damage control" day & create something beautiful...makes me feel like I am still in control :)

As you know I have recently joined "Scrapbook Kits with Jules" and she has a sketch & inspiration challenge on her site monthly, with a randomly drawn prize, you can check out the sketch here & see my layout there (the names are under the pictures - just so you know which one is mine - it's the same as what I have posted here) the inspiration challenge is here.  We are required to select which we'd like to do each month so I chose the sketch - sure you can see why...Isn't it great?!?

Jules is very talented at sketches and the inspiration challenges are also beautiful.

I showed you a sneak of this a while back...
Almost through my last CHA stock now - yay!
Need my Glitz shelf to be clear so that I can stock it up to the max again...
About to hit the online stores for new Glitz as it made it's long-awaited debut on Friday - woo hoo!

Reilly is called Bing by his family (that would be us LOL) and sometimes Bingo
(in fact, for some reason, he is the kid with the most nicknames ever!)
so that Bingo card was perfect for this layout - and I used some old Making Memories "O's"
(from a sticker-sheet so depleted it couldn't make me any useful words)
to highlight his birthday - 25 Feb (see the circles are around those dates!)

I printed my journaling out onto a Glitz Design offcut,
always a better idea than plain white if possible.
Just plan your text box full of journaling & eyeball it's position on your printer paper,
then temporarily adhere it (I use Sticky Stuff/Prestik/Blue Tack)
then feed it through your printer so it prints directly onto your cardstock.

For the banner I used the circus print that I would otherwise not have used, as,
when cut up into small triangles the busy print just looks like a pattern.
I used glossy embroidery thread - several strands of it rolled together & painted with glue -
on top of my pennant flags - once I had them all in place...

When I photographed the phone Reilly got for his birthday it was still in it's cellophane packaging
(just in case you are wondering what those white lines are - they're reflections)

If you love to layer then Glitz Design is what you need.
They sell packs of transparencies, "what nots", paper layers, everything around A5 size or smaller,
ready to tuck in here, there & everywhere!

Hopefully you can play along with the challenge, for a chance to win a RAK from Jules's kit stash.
Still lots of time as both challenges close at the end of the month
(Australian time so get in there a day ahead as they are 8 - 12 hours ahead of us all!)
except if you are in the East of course, then you only need add on about 4 hours...

Fab sketch and you have ROCKED it. Love the brightness of the page and the photos are just great.
So it's 13 for a phone?? My DS keeps asking and I just say 18 for everything.....lol.
And you sound pretty busy. I love hearing that others have a hectic life like my own. Makes me feel a bit more sane.
And I hope your DS is ok after his "trouble". My biggest fear.
