Bird is the Word Has a New Challenge Up! {"Share" Layout - Glitz Design - Vintage Blue}

Hi there blog friends!
First up I want to tell you about a problem I'm having with commenting -
not sure if it is a problem with my browser, certain blogs or what but I type out the comment click to publish it & a box pops up that says "Google Chrome cannot connect to this page" or something like that!

It won't allow me to click back into the blog or comment box so I have to close the tab & open it again, and sometimes I don't have the time so I'm a bit muddled up now on what I've commented on and what I THINK I've commented on, very annoying!

Anyway, when I have time for another round I'll try to rectify that but for now I have a couple of layouts I need to be working on instead.

There's a new challenge up at BIRD IS THE WORD to use the word SHARE anywhere on your project, and remember to also mention Bird is the Word & link up to it in your post, as well as linking up your project on the Inlinkz tool.
PLEASE DO NOT LINK TO YOUR ENTIRE BLOG!

I got these new Glitz Design "Vintage Blue" papers really early this month as they came with my Little Black Dress kit last month.
It seems to me that there may be some connection between Glitz Design & Little Black Dress &, as they are one of my fave manufacturers, that's a good thing for me as I hope to get a steady supply of Glitz goodness in my kits!

I don't have a lot of white space on this layout but I love it all the same.
The papers inspired me to create a page FULL of Victorian decadence of blue & yellow
(yellow being a very frequently used colour during the Victorian era).

I added in 3 doilies & spritzed the bottom 2 with a few different colours of glimmer mist,
cut my patterned paper into scallop shapes, inked & distressed them and layered them up with some corrugated board between them & a lush metallic gathered ribbon edging peeking out.

I made the flower using a giant "Gluber" (glue-dot) from Cosmo cricket & the ribbon that came with my kit, just cut it in half lengthways first as it was very wide, then gathered it from the outside in & layered a crochet leaf & 2 buttons on top of each other for the centre.
The scalloped newsprint came with the kit so I just inked it with a couple of colours & added various feathers behind it & to the side for a real old-fashioned flourish.

You still have 2.5 weeks to upload your layout.  Each Bird is the Word challenge is open for a WHOLE MONTH but, as there is a new challenge set once a fortnight, it means that there is a 2 week overlap where there are 2 challenges running concurrently, so you still have 4 DAYS to get your MEMORY projects in for the chance to win an entire kit from Tidbitz in Time, shipped anywhere in the world!

Click in to take a look at this month's kit - gosh, it's beautiful!  There's only ONE disadvantage to being on the Bird is the Word Design Team & that is that I'm not eligible to win any of those kits LOL!

I am always wowed by your colour choices and how you make it all sing in harmony together.
Love all the layering you achieve.
I actually cracked open my smooches and spritzes the other day for my ladies to play with. Baby steps...LOL.

yeah closeups! I have been dying to know what kind of blue ribbon that was (LOVE IT!) and if those words were stickers or whatnot! Thank goodness for your awesome photography skills because now I can sleep tonight knowing those answers! JK! But I seriously love this layout. There is something to be said about blue and yellow together. And those feathers rock too!
