Sneaks of my latest kit creations at Scrapbook Kits with Jules {and some bad news}

I received my kit parcel in record time recently - 12 days from Australia - containing 2 months worth of kits from Scrapbook Kits, the kit club in Australia recently bought by Jules McKenna De Lumen
I'm not able to share my full layouts with you just yet but am able to give you a couple of sneaks.
Bright stuff indeed!

I did my best to use as much of the product I was sent on the 2 layouts I was asked to create, without being able to add any extras from my own stash
- simple on the one hand, challenging on the other, but,
given the specifications I think I did as best as I could :)

It's not easy scrapbooking with products that aren't of your own choosing but it's something I need to learn :)

I've also tried to use some simple techniques on each page -
so that someone buying the kit is inspired to try something different.

Yes these kits are actually page kits - sold together with instructions on how to recreate them so I am getting experience in writing up instructions too.

On the one page the purchaser will learn how to :-

1.  fussy cut
2.  Raise up some elements using chipboard
3.  Create an "aura" around the edge of some elements using an ink-pad
4.  Journal around the edge of the elements (for a change from straight-forward hand-journaling)
5.   Customize chipboard die-cuts so that they can be used in different ways.

On the second page (within the same kit) the purchaser will learn how to

1.  create a border edge around a layout
2.  Mock-stitch using a pen
3.  Doodle leaves using a journaling pen & colour them in with pencils
4.  Make a Picasa photo collage or create a square grid using various photos
5.  Strip-journal

I enjoyed having to think of someone else for a change, whilst I was scrapbooking.

It was a totally different experience.

I wasn't scrapbooking for me at all, I was scrapbooking to sell a product & to make the customer want to come back for more - in other words, teach them something new & have them wanting to buy more of "my" kits again in the future!

***The bad news is that I'm sick again, and it's worse than  before :(
My neck is as stiff as a tree & I'm coughing like a  hobo again.
Me & the boys have all had bronchitis & now it looks like we are set for round 2 - not good news...

I've been trying to fight it for days now so that I could get my layouts done in time but I think I'm going to have to get an early night now & come back in the morning.  ***

Helen, I'm sorry to hear that you're sick again. Maybe the Dr. needs to give you some meds. to get it out of your system. :(
On the brighter side of things...your sneaks are just fab! From what I can see, you've done a great job with the kits. Can't wait to see the full reveals!
Take care my friend and try to get some extra rest!

You must slow down a little for a few days so you can have a chance to get better!!
I can see what you mean about selling a product. I have had that experience too, creating for assignmentes with product I received that I did not even really like. (I am not saying it's like that for you)
I think the sneaks show us you made a pretty page and your photos of Cam looks gorgeous as always!!
Get well soon!
