Bird is the Word { LOVE that you have each other Layout} Glitz Design

There's a new challenge up at Bird is the Word as of yesterday!
LOVE is the word on our lips (and our scrapbook pages this week!) so go check it out...
Lots of wonderful inspiration to be found from all the Design Team layouts & a complete Tidbitz in Time Kit up for grabs for the winner, plus a "Featured Winner" badge to display on your blog if you come anywhere in the TOP 5!!!  Merit judging - awesomeness...
We come to visit your blog, leave our love behind & work hard choosing the layouts that clearly have been made with Love LOL!!
All good reasons to play along right?!?

I'm frantically trying to use up the last of my Glitz Design papers so I can order ALL their new lines...{okay, I  WANT them all but I'll probably have to limit myself to choosing just one...}
See that I have actually ended up combining Glitz products from 4 different lines all in all...

I fussy-cut around the "Carte Postale" paper then layered all sorts of Glitz wonderfulness on top of it!

I mixed "Afternoon Muse" with "Laced with Grace" papers & did a fair bit of fussy-cutting...

A little Prima bling, some October Afternoon & Lily Bee alphas & a Webster's fabric sentiment & called it done!

A word of caution on the Glitzers stickers...get your placement right 'cos you ain't ever going to move those babies! {that frame around the girls' faces in the top photo}.
Never come across anything quite so sticky in my life...

The photos sadly weren't my best...but because they were of my big daughter & her best friend just before they went to separate universities, I really wanted to use them, so converted them to black & white {just moved the slider over to yellow afterwards for a browner tone as I find sepia tooooo brown...and made sure to print them small as they were not well focused - new lens & I was trialing it...}

This last photo is a completely unedited shot of my layout - to show you how I photograph my layouts - up against the pillar of our carport.
Photographing layouts is not difficult but takes trial & error.
 I'm thinking of doing a tutorial on this if anyone is interested...

Wow! I am the first one to comment! How lucky can I be?!
I love this new line from Glitz Design. I love anything vintage..I collect so many papers, I went through my 12x12s and I still have papers from 10 years ago. I'm just a hoarder. I buy them, then I forget that I have them until I actually trip over them.
What can I say about this LO? First of all the girls are just gorgeous. Your daughter is so lucky she got you as a mom, where else did she get the good looks from? Dad? But she looks more like you.

Love this LO Helen! The picture collage just suits the page very well. Awesome job!
Hugs, Marivic

A BFF page, how cool! I have a 12 by 12 scanner, but sometimes still don't feel happy with the outcome. Please do post your tips if you have a chance. Thanks in advance!

Gorgeous page Helen. Love that you could use so many photos. And as always you have taken great pics!! Wonderful combination of the Glitz collections. I recently bought some too as I wanted to get them before they disappear.
I hope your big girl is happy at university.
She looks so lovely that if she wanted to drop out she could be a model instead,....-but hey,...don't tell her that! :o)
Take care!!

Lovely layout Helen. thank you for showing how you photograph your layout. I get so frustrated when the colour on the photo looks so different than the layout, and no amount of editing gets it perfect.

For a gal who's got nothing but a plain digi compact to photograph with,your pics are always top rate! love them all! how on earth do you photograph square?? could definitely use som tricks pls! You are so good at fitting in multiple pics and still the LO doesn't look busy, only beautiful! Yeah good luck I say too with resisting all the new lines, my resolutions have gone out the window long time ago. What the heck, don't smoke and don't party so might as well spend the bucks on papers huh?! :)
