My Birthday Girl & her Cards

I missed The Colour Room challenge again this week because I haven't had a spare moment until the public holiday today (Youth Day in South Africa) & spent the whole day at the "Gateway to Fame" auditions with my young budding starlet today :)  This evening (after the last episode of the season of Desperate Housewives♥♥♥) I spent hours on my blog design again, locating images all over the web, and finally settling on exactly what I want.  Boy am I a fussy customer - I hope my web designer can put up with me!   I guess it could be better having a customer who knows EXACTLY what they want than someone who leaves it up to you though hey?!

♥♥♥ Looking forward to my blog makeover that's for sure ♥♥♥

School holidays start here at the end of next week so my girlie is having to have her party a little early to accomodate those that are going to be away over that time, which means I had to get the invitations done & today will be organising everything from chocolate cake to "kid's bubbly"!

I used paper from my box of "old stuff" that the kids get to use for school projects, etc, but found some perfect Fiskars birthday print.  I don't buy themed papers anymore...  Simple but sweet :)

She is having a pamper party & I have my beautician popping in for an hour to paint little toes & finger nails.  Cami is over the top excited and is having her friends to spend the night as well.  I remember also loving "slumber parties" when I was little.  I know that will mean much happy giggling going on until the wee hours...

A bad night photograph but I like the background so thought I'd add it anyway.  It is my little shabby chic entrance area & I have been working on it all year, adding appropriate bits & pieces here & there, the latest addition being that decadent lamp with the distressed wood base & the gorgeous feather boa trim.

I'm hoping to have a scrappy weekend this weekend as next week my darling daughter arrives home from University & I am so completely excited that I get to have her for a whole FIVE WEEKS that I just want to look at her the entire time - I miss her so much.  I keep myself busy but that doesn't ever fill the hole in my heart that I have when she is gone.  And now my little one is going to be 11 soon.  3 teenagers and a pre-teen!  Lucky for me I am blessed with good kids that bring {almost nothing but} JOY into my life!

HAPPY WEEKEND CREATIVE FRIENDS :)

Hi Helen, I remember my DD having them not so long ago, soooo much fun but very tiring, you will need a week away after the event LOL. Super to have your daughter back home soon, I know all the universities have more or less broken up here for summer we only have another five weeks of school. Love your invites and I remember having to do goody bags too, enjoy!!!!!

Could do with some painted toenails and pampering myself. Ooooh slumber party, yay for that! I was just wondering about the feathers, how wonderfully decadent to have a shabby chic entrance! our's just a plain messy hall with shoes everywhere and piles of my scarves. So looking forward to seeing your new blog design, I know it will be totally fabulous! xoxoxo
