Inspired Blueprints Sketch 74 {It's a Gift} Layout & some Challenge Date Reminders!

Okay, keeping up with the Inspired Blueprints roll here this is my latest layout for them so we are now up to date - woo hoo!  I love how this one turned out - all thanks to Basic Grey's yummy Curio line I'm sure...

I was the Submission Spotlight in The Paper Variety that week, Sunday May 15th 2011, the challenge being for your layout to be inspired by a movie title.  I just googled to find a suitable title!

So here it is.  One of those layouts that came together like clockwork Thank Goodness, no problems putting this one together, I think because I love this paper line so much!
Loved the sketch - more often than not the Inspired Blueprints sketches are the "layered" type so suitable for my style of scrapbooking.  You can see the full reveal for this sketch here but the deadline for this was the end of May so you will have to look here for the current sketch, which you can then upload here.

For my tags I traced around real stationery tags then cut them out of printed paper & attached one with a K & Co. brad & the other with a hole & some seam-binding.

On the other side I made a pseudo tag using a torn off-cut piece into which I punched a hole & threaded through with some more seam-binding held in place by a couple of brads.

A side-view shot just for fun as it gives a better idea of dimension.

Beneath the photo I attached a strip of Studio Calico "Fabrips" (the woodgrained fabric that I have pleated up) which is sticky-backed.  I never measure as such but use my gridded cutting mat as my guide as I am folding along.

I printed the journaling on the computer using a typewriter font then rubbed over to blur the type a bit & added a couple of shades of Distress Inks to age them.

The resin coin-embellishments are local & perfect for a masculine layout.  I clustered them with various older brads.

I swirled a strip of pearls around the page, adhering every so often with a small glue-dot.

Supplies:-

All Papers from Basic Grey "Curio" line (Pinking Shears & Cabriole, etc)
Seam binding - Pixie Dust Paperie
Alphas - American Crafts "Thickers"
Crown brad - K & Co.
Coin embellishments - LSS
Miscellaneous brads from stash, including 7 Gypsies
Pleated fabrip - Studio Calico
Pearl strip & resin leaves - stash
Distress Inks - Scattered Straw & Tea Dye (Tim Holtz)
Shell punch - EK Success

Thanks for looking!  We are all up to date now with Inspired Blueprints - hope you are all busy working on Sketch 75 right now (see link above) & that you are busy getting your Bird is the Word challenges in, to be in line to win an entire kit of your choice! (see yesterdays's BIRD IS THE WORD post) AND that you are finalising your projects today for ONCE UPON A SKETCH as those are due in in only TWO MORE DAYS!
