2 New Layouts (Scrap-it-Lah - Living the Dream) & (Colour Combos Galore/Sketch Inspirations "So Far Apart")& a Giveaway!

So the first reveal of the new DT is up at Scrap-it-Lah & what's not to love about this challenge site?  All you need to do is link up your LAYOUT (only layouts allowed - yay!!!) by the end of the month for a chance to win a lovely RAK - each & every month - no long list of rules, no challenge to make something weird & wonderful out of your old cereal box - just straight-forward scrapbooking - the way it should be IMO :)

The topic of the challenge is THINGS I CAN'T DO WITHOUT & the new DT have come up with a whole range of things from smiles to cell-phones - please pop in - become a follower & leave them some comment love.  Remember to add SCRAP-IT-LAH to your list of places to play OK!?!

I downloaded this cool font - with hearts inside the letters - called CUPID DE LOCKE so there's the link for those of you that want it - just click "download" - "open with Winzip" then right click the download & click install - waaay easier for Windows 7 users than the old XP method!

This layout came together like absolute clockwork - no hiccups at all - gotta love that!

I used some of my INSTAX photos for the first time ever (I have a display wall full of them!)

Supplies:-

We R Memory Keepers "Be My Valentine" Hugs & Kisses printed paper
White bazzill
Making Memories Be Mine Valentine's Sentiment & felt hearts & bling flowers
Making Memories vintage Findings red metal roses
Black alphas - stationer
Chipboard Alphas - American Crafts Thickers - Hardcover
Tim Holtz "Adage" tickets

Here I just wanted to give a little shout out to my new friend Yolande - that sent me all these incredible goodies AS WELL AS 3 spray bottles of mists!  Wow, wow, wow...the love in Scrappy Bloggy land is alive & well!!  Yolande is a relatively new blogger & does the most amazing work so why not pop in & take a look at it here.  Sure she would love some comment love too - you remember what it was like starting out?!

And this is my MAY GIVEAWAY!  Yes, I do know that we are already in June, but I never got to posting May's giveaway so here it is!!  So far I have had a giveaway every month - January was won by Kirsty Vittetoe, February by Lynette Jacobs, March by Paloma & April by Stefanie.

This RAK contains a brand new pack of Crate Paper "Emma's Shoppe" buttons - some Studio Calico journaling stickers, a set of alphas, lots of punched shapes, flowers & hand-made crochet bits & pieces - just a collection of spring goodies already tucked into a little envelope that could have YOUR NAME WRITTEN ON IT!

This RAK is on offer to all entrants of my latest Scrapbook Challenges Product Challenge (now closed) & I stated in the forum thread there that they could have an extra chance of winning if they commented here AS WELL (and became a follower).  It is also available to YOU - my followers/blog readers/bloggy friends!!

What you need to do to have a chance of winning this little package too is:-

1.  Become a follower (if you aren't one already)
2.  Leave a comment on this post
3.  Become a follower at Scrap-it-Lah

I will draw a winner within a week so don't delay!!

And here is my latest entry into this week's challenge over at Colour Combos Galore

Using the latest sketch from Sketch Inspirations

For some reason this site is not very well supported, which is sad, as their sketches are lovely & always work for me!

I am also entering this in Kirsty's "crepe paper challenge" over at Yvonne Yam's blog here.  You have a chance of winning a $15 voucher to her lovely little pixie store, by entering any creation where you have used CREPE PAPER so check out Yvonne's blog (she has challenges hosted by Guest Designers often) & enter before JUNE 17.  I used almost all Echo Park "For the Record" simply because it was such a perfect match!

I punched then pleated then stitched around my circle.

I always try to add a bit of journaling to tell the story - and I try not to forget to add the date!

I gathered up some tissue paper (under the scallop edge above) that I took out of some new shoes my son bought!  It was the perfect "Krafty" colour!

Supplies:-

Echo Park "For the Record" printed papers & stickers & alphas - "Border", "Lace Stripes" & "Fancy Floral"
Fiskars border punch
Red thread
Sassafras alphas (Robotics)
Prima flowers & bling swirls
SEI brad

Well done if you made it this far!  I am about 10 layouts behind on my posting so I'm going to have to do 2 at a time to catch up!!

Hi Helen. Both Layouts are absolutely superb! I love that you managed to use so many beautiful photos on your "Living the Dream" layout, and I love the journaling...really have to agree, that family is number 1. How cool is that font you used?! Love the design of your second LO and that fabulous large format photo...the details are absolutely gorgeous. How clever of you to use tissue paper and to gather it...it looks fantastic!!! Also love the stitching, borders, cut outs, bling and other lovely details.
Oh Helen, thank's so much for the shout out on your blog...so not necessary but you are an absolute sweetie pie! :)
Have a superb day...and keep up the amazing creative work.

Just reading your blog puts a huuuge smile on my face and so much warmth in my heart. Elsa woke me up at 04.30 (yup, 04.30 as in a.m. it is) wanting a cuddle and not giving it a rest until I had OPENED my eyes having a proper look into hers. Smiling is also what I did checking out the DT's work over at Scrap-it-Lah. So much to love in both your pages Helen, dunno where to begin. Only had time to think "yeah, that's so totally Echo Park "For the Record" when I saw last week's palette on CCG, but had only time to whip up the page for TCR before leaving on our trip. Been itching for my papers even if we had an absolutely glorious time in London. Will post some more photos :)) Really agree with you on the weird challenges out there, couldn't be bothered to use 8 buttons, 16 loops all gathered upside down on a converted milk carton. I want to keep my layouts for posterity because they mean something to me. That's exactly what your pages are all about, beautiful memories. xoxoxox
