For those of you who haven't visited my blog before, I have been on the Design Team at Scrapbook Challenges since January this year. I first became aware of Scrapbook Challenges towards the end of last year when they held the competition Scrapbook Challenges Next Top Scrapper (you can still find the posts for last year's competition in the forum). The competition was totally fun & although I didn't win it I made some awesome new scrappy friends from within the competitors' circle & we are still bloggy friends to this day (and I hope we always will be - wink - Sabrina, Jolande, Marilyn & more!)
So we were required to dig through the Scrapbook Challenges archives & find one of Pamela's really old sketches - so this is my choice - Sketch 115 above.
I knew immediately that the new range from GCD - SOUL FOOD - would be just PERFECT for this challenge & so it was!
As an extra challenge we were requested to make these layouts 8 x 8, which is teeeeeeeeeeeeeny for me! I have only EVER made one 8 x8 layout in my LIFE before, so this is my second!
Hat's off to Debbi Tehrani, who creates absolute mini-masterpieces (all her layouts are 8x8) with such immaculate detail ! I have a new found respect for your efforts after working with such a small layout.
Supplies:-
Cream cardstock (American Crafts)
Printed Paper - GCD Soul Food - Lovely Green
Inspiration cards - GCD Soul Food by Melody Ross
Ribbon & ricrac - Peachy Keen by American Crafts
Brads - SEI
Stickpins - local haberdashery
Epoxy brad - 7 Gypsies Victoria
Lace - stash
B - Rainboots thickers - Dear Lizzy for American Crafts
Mini-alphas - Life's Good - Echo Park
Blue ink - Pretty Colour
As the inspiration cards I was using just happened to be coral in colour I decided to use that starting point for this colour scheme at City Crafter Challenge Blog - Week 55 - (and My! Isn't it a fine & dandy colour scheme?!?) Definitely one that works so well it's worth repeating over & over again :)
Now for the RAK info. How's this for a prize?!?
1. One member who leaves a comment on all the blogs & in the hop will get Chipboard Borders, 12x12 Collection Kit and a 6x6 Paper Pad from To The Moon by Fancy Pants.
But WAIT! There's more!!
2. One member who posts a NEW layout (based on one of Pam’s sketches) and posts it in the HOP ON section will receive a package of Tim Holtz goodies.
AND there's never been a better time to sign up @ Scrapbook Challenges :)
3. One new member, who registers over the weekend will get the We R Memory Keepers’ Sew Easy Piercer, 4 Piercers, a mixed assortment of Divine Twine and 15 colors of DMC Embroidery Floss.
OKIDOKEY!!! That's it folks! Now all you gotta do is leave me a (nice!) comment here & hop on to the next blog here!
