Once Upon a Sketch has a new sketch up {Due in end of May 2011}

***If you want to see my DT layout for the reveal click into the Once Upon a Sketch blog - I will be sharing that in an upcoming post***

Being on the design team of Once Upon a Sketch is really awesome.  Being a part of something so "happening" is a really fantastic feeling.  I am so proud of my friend Nadia & what she has achieved, not only with her sketch blog but with her scrapbooking career to date.  She is marvellous inspiration & she is one of literally a dozen or less scrapbookers with "an inimitable style" that sets them apart from the rest.

I have looked at a gazillion layouts online in my 3 years of blogging but there are not many people who's layouts I could recognise NO MATTER WHOSE PHOTOS THEY USED.  Sure, I recognise the kids, etc...(that's also kinda cool...) but some people just have a style all their own, and Nadia is one such person.  Very distinctive - sure you could COPY it - but to her it just comes naturally...

We had EIGHTY SIX players this time & now have OVER 500 FOLLOWERS!  So seriously COOL!

Participating at Once Upon a Sketch is EASY - use the sketch as your inspiration - add some journaling according the THE PROMPT which you can find together with the challenge - take note too...

"When you journal on your layouts, it is expected that your writing will consist of more than just the date/place etc. the photo was taken at. Your journalling should be at least 1 to 2 lines long."

If you want a chance at winning (and the prizes are ALWAYS AWESOME...) PLEASE!!!  Take note of that girls!!!  The whole design team judge all the layouts - it is a painstaking process because there are SO MANY STELLAR ENTRIES - and, as Once Upon a Sketch is a SKETCH/JOURNALING blog - the journaling is a real consideration, so it's so important to follow this for a winning chance.

We love to visit you all & leave you some encouraging words SO PLEASE MAKE IT EASIER FOR US!  Link ONLY TO THE POST not your whole blog pleeeeeeeeeease (we may not be able to get there the same day you link & then it can be a mission finding the post if you link up to your whole blog).

I know that in the past there have been annoying spammers visiting blogs with links to dodgy sites, etc, but PLEASE CONSIDER TURNING OFF YOUR WORD VERIFICATION - I've done it and am hoping that it won't be a problem - it would really help us all when we are commenting on 86 entries!  ( I have set my settings to allow only people with Google ID's to comment on my blog - which is a security setting in itself - as all serious bloggers will have a Google ID & spammers probably won't).

Journalling criteria: Your journalling should be TYPED  (and remember it should be at least 1-2 lines long)You can also make a card or altered item based on this sketch and use a typed quote instead of journalling.

For this challenge there will be 2 main prizes, which means 2 winners..!

 One lucky person, whose project will be voted on by the Design Team will win a $US20.00 Gift Voucher to spend at Your Scrapbook Stash, one of our sponsors in May.

The other winner, as voted again by the Design Team will receive this kit

This collection kit includes: 8 - 12"x12" sheets of double sided cardstock, 1 - 12" flocked transparency, 1 - 12" printed transparency, Glitter Cuts, 5x8" notebook journal, 20 brads, 12 title tags, 45 buttons, 1 sheet of rub ons, element stickers, alphabet stickers, 3 yards of ribbon & a Card kit with enough supplies to make 6 cards with envelopes and 2 tags.
The Design Team will also vote on their Top 5 favourite projects and those projects will be our FEATURED projects for this challenge.

There will also be one entry, which will be chosen RANDOMLY using and this person will receive a $US10.00 Gift Voucher to also spend at

for providing beautiful chipboard for our Design Team (yay - that includes ME & I have a big packet of it sitting on my desk right now - woo hoo!) and not only being our sponsor in May, but for the rest of the year!

I actually pinned this sketch for future use, but now that you've made such a case for participating... no promises, but I just might. By the way the DT takes on the sketch were gorgeous, yours included!

I agree wholeheartedly about Nadia but don't exclude yourself and the rest of the DT! Its the layouts that you provide for inspiration to the rest of us that make the sketches come to life!! I think this is one of the best DT's around and I look forward to seeing what you and the rest of the DT do with each challenge! So thank YOU as well!!
