The Guy in the Tuxedo {Colour Combos Galore 190/Creative Scrappers 154} plus Punch Tutorial

If you don't play here shame on you!  It's definitely one of the coolest places to hang on the web & look at this lush combo!
Lovely sketch here too - I rotated it one turn to the right & replaced the 3 photos for one large one...

I can't find any more elaborate punches {Martha Stewart border punches) online at the moment - every time I do they are sold out.  There are about 4 designs that I am after.  I have a few but I am so bored with them.
So I had this brainwave to use my small doily punch & just punch tons of doilies then overlap them slightly to create an elaborate lacy border.

I took a sheet of 2007 WRMK paper & used the reverse "vanilla" side to mist & flick paint all over.

Thoroughly enjoyed that then soaked in a hot tub while it all dried :)

My youngest daughter has nicknamed our kitten (Chives) "The guy in the Tuxedo" because of his white front & black body - I thought that was pretty clever for a 10 year old...
That banner was my final addition, made ultra simple by Lily Bee banner stickers from their "Picket Fence" line.

Suppplies:-

Background paper - WRMK Coppered Out - Crochet (Reverse Side)
Black cardstock - Bazzill
Mists - Maya Road Sunflower Yellow, Tattered Angels Lemon Zest, Studio Calico Clover, Tattered Angels Key Lime Pie, Tattered Angels Jazz Blue, Studio Calico Calico Cream, Memories Mists Diet Cola
Paints - Making Memories Daiquiri, Manilla, Lemon
Alphas (stash), Creative Memories & Provocraft
Rub-ons - LSS & Basic Grey
Patterned paper - Studio Calico Eternal Summer
Twine - Divine Twine
Banner Stickers - Lily Bee Picket Fence
Flocked brads - Creative Imaginations

Oh I can SO totally relate to the shortage of supplies issue. I have to import 99% of everything from the US paying excruciating fees. Really creative to put that punch to re-newed use, the border looks really pretty Helen! That is one mighty impressive list of mists and a brill result too. Mr Chives is one handsome fellow, clever Cami - spot on with the tux! xxxx

I can see why getting hold of every scrap supply would be an issue in SA. I live in a country where most things are very easily accessible, still I have to import a lot of what I want. Mostly because I don't want to wait until it arrives here!
I love the picture of Mr. Tux and I think your DD has come up with a very appropriate name for him!...LOL! Very clever indeed!
The layout is very cool and artsy. Well done on the paint effects. Love all the droplets. And the frame is such a cool idea too. thanks for sharing, my friend!
Hope you have a fab week end!
