"For the Record" {Inspired Blueprints Sketch 70}

This was my first DT assignment at Inspired Blueprints - to interpret this lovely sketch, Sketch 70.

I used Echo Park "For the Record" & cut up the one sheet (with all the different strips) then stitched it on first horizontally then vertically.
I printed out 3 photos of my youngest daughter - one of her with each of her 3 siblings, then I positioned them in place - adding a touch of zig-zag lace to the top of the girly photo for a feminine touch.

This line comes with an awesome 12" sticker sheet complete with various alphas & elements, so creating with it is a real breeze.
After adhering my photos it was literally a matter of deciding what I wanted where...all from the same sticker sheet...sweet indeed!

I decided that the "For the Record" sticker itself would form the beginning of my looooooong title "For the Record * so you never forget * as a little girl you just adored your siblings."

I raised it up on some foamcore for dimension.
I use a combination of my Making Memories Tweezers & my "spike" to adhere the alphas & always use a set-square to ensure that my letters are at right-angles to my photos & not crooked...

That first word there "remember" is actually printed onto the paper - so I just added some stickers to make a little sentence/design element.

I also bought the sheet of printed paper with all the tags on it so I cut these all out so that they are ready for use & used this one for some hand-journaling.  I trimmed it off at the end so that it did not overlap the photo & confuse my design.

As parents WE are responsible for ensuring that our children get along & are not allowed to fight seriously, so that there is no bitterness /unresolved conflict that our kids carry through with them into later life.

I really believe strongly in this message & wanted my kids to know it - FOREVER!

The only items that are NOT from Echo Park are the pretty yellow ribbon that came in my February Studio Calico kit, & lace from my stash that I think originated from Prima :)

What very very true words Helen!! They really touched me as I know the conflict my sisters and I have today, and it is so sad. I don't want that for my boys. Your layout is superb as usual my friend!!!

Love this Helen dear! I think we touched upon this subject at an earlier occation and it turned out our views are pretty similar. We are so responsible as adults for making our children well rounded individuals in so many ways. It may not always be easy but it must be done!
You did great with 'For the Record'. My batch of that particular brand is nearly finished but I really enjoyed working with it!
Take care!

Finally reclaimed the 'puter from DH and am backtracking your blog. Always makes me feel really good visiting you, your layouts are such brilliant inspiration and I just love to see how you create them. With 3 beautiful kiddos you never run out of photos to scrap either! Totally agree with you about the parental responsibility even if I don't have any offspring myself. Hopping to your previous post now! xxooo
