My Little Palamino Pony {Colour Combos Galore 184/Stuck?Sketches! March 15}

Isn't this a gorgeous colour combo?!  I got so excited for this one this week, because I had the PERFECT photo for it & found the perfect sketch to match!

Colour Combos Galore projects are due in every Wednesday - nice & easy to remember - but the earlier you get yours in the better as there is a great community there & you'll get lots of visits!

Stuck? Sketches! is a new one to me but I loved the look of this sketch with the giant photo - as often I like to showcase a really nice shot.

Not a lot to say about this one because it's so simple!  Luckily I had some really old My Mind's Eye paper that was the perfect colour match (Colour challenges are a great way to use up your older stash...)

Used my Martha Stewart punches here - have never used this butterfly punch before because it is "the wrong way round" in my opinion!  I usually punch underneath the photo, not above it - and then the butterflies would be upside down?!?  Yes I know I could just cut a strip & turn it around...

Hand-journaled again as this is the only place it would fit & strip journaling would have looked too bitty...ooooh for a large scale printer...one day...

Made that little organza flower out of the same ribbon I have used along the width of the layout.  I placed the printed strip on top of the sheer ribbon so as to hide the double-sided tape.

Supplies:-

Backing paper - My Mind's Eye - Signature Suite - 'Naturally You' - Scroll/Buttercream
Pink Paper - Prima - Paradise City Collection
Cream grid paper - Prima - My Mommy & me
Printed strip - American Crafts Classic Collection (Studio Calico Feb 2011)
Pink Thickers (Subway)- American Crafts  (Studio Calico Feb 2011)
Butterfly punch plus other border punch - both Martha Stewart
Organza Ribbon - Studio Calico Feb 2011 Candy Shoppe Kit.
Yellow Butterfly - Jenni Bowlin
Bling - My Mind's Eye - Fine & Dandy (Studio Calico Feb 2011)
Glass brads - Creative Imaginations
Both badges - American Crafts Dear Lizzy collection
Flower - Sassafras Lass  (Studio Calico Feb 2011)
Inks - Colourbox (Yellow Cadmium & Chestnut Roan)

Thanks for looking & to those who regularly pop in & leave me kind comments - I <3 you!

You amaze me how you manage to work with these combos. I look at them and think, no way!
PS what's a palamino pony?

I was waiting for that question :) my DD had no idea either until I googled it for her (just type "palamino pony" into google images) & you'll see that her colouring is just like one! She has dark skin - golden - and fair hair - just like those beautiful little horses - and you can actually see in that photo that her hair is constantly growing from her browline in little pale golden tufts - still - at 10! When I was young I lived on a farm & always had my own horse so I was pony obsessed & had a book with pictures of all the different types - that's how I know about the Palamino!

I know what you mean about the butterfly punch.
I have tended to use it vertically instead.
Lovely LO, great large photo.
