Me Monday! {Q & A}

I pinched this from my friend Diana's blog & it quite appealed to me too.

1.  Why did you start blogging? When I first started blogging just over 2 years ago I had NO IDEA what a blog was & had only surfed the internet ONCE & never googled anything!  So I didn't know WHAT I was doing but I'd recently suffered a HUGE scrapbooking disappointment where I live & it was a catalyst for me as it made me realise that locally there was no way I was going to get anywhere so I decided to put myself out on the net & just start the journey & learn along the way.  It was Stacy Julien who I first heard talk about blogging at a local scrapbooking event.  It intrigued me as she was filming us all on her flip "to put on her blog" so I knew it had something to do with connecting with like-minded people!

2.  Who do you blog for? Initially I blogged a lot for me.  I do that a lot less now.  It's really hit home just how many millions of blogs are on the internet & how little time there is for most people to read them so my posts are a lot more focused now & a lot more scrapbooking orientated.  I blog to share my work with others as I love being part of the vibrant online community.  I benefit from it a lot so I blog to give back, to keep myself in the loop & to connect with scrapbookers who I admire as well as with like-minded people I find interesting & inspiring, on all levels, not just crafting.  My blog also serves as a gallery required to link up to & display challenges from so is a neccessity for scrap bookers interested in taking part in such things!

3.  What do you love about blogging?  I have met so many cool scrapbookers & really feel like they are my crafting friends now & firmly believe that there's a good chance I may meet some of them as I hope to be able to travel further afield in years to come.  So far I have met 2 so one a year is pretty good going I think!  My scrapbooking has also improved a great deal through the online education I've given myself through all my blog-hopping too!  South Africa is sadly very undirectional when it comes to scrapbooking so before I got online I really didn't know what I was aiming for!  Now I have my 10 fave scrapbookers, 10 fave manufacturers & a very clear idea of what I am aiming for & a very clear map on how to get there!

4.  How did you choose the name for your blog?  Simple really...I always have far too much stash...sadly decidedly vintage now!  {Before I got online I had no idea that there were lines released every few months or in fact, that there were such definite trends in stash.} I still love the name & it suits me well as I could cruise online scrapbooking stores all night if I had unlimited resources!

5.   If you were a colour what would you be & why?  I'd definitely be RED because I love red!  It's so strong & vibrant & symbolizes LIFE & PASSION !!!

 6.  What song would best describe you? Anything but Ordinary by Avril Lavigne.

7.  If you could choose another career/job & money wasn't a hindrance what would you do?
Definitely something IT/computer-programming related - I would so love to have invented Facebook or Google, not to mention Blogger of course!  Not for the money but just because...Geek chic rules...

8.  What would be on your Christmas wishlist if money were no object?  An i-pod - I share my daughter's & as it's officially hers I hardly ever get hold of it!

An i-pad - okay this sounds like an advert for Apple but I really want these things!!

An i-phone!!!  Need I say more???

Oooh questions questions! I'll keep you intrigued a little longer shall I? Heidi - will probably post that sometime soon ;-D Diana - I've had so many defining moments in my life but when it comes to scrapbooking the handling of our national comp was very defining ( & disappointing) but set me off on this course that I may not have discovered otherwise & I'm sure this was in retrospect the better route for me. In life in general I'll have to think! I'm rather like you on the subject...each moment leads to another so all are kind of catalystic!
