Joy Giver {Pixie Dust Paperie/Color Room Palette 31}

Today is D day over at Pixie Dust Paperie.  Read all about the challenge then click here to have a look at their November Kit & most recent DT work.  The challenge was an inspiration one - to scraplift one of their DT member's October works & I chose Jessy Christopher's card posted below but adapted it to a layout.
I also combined the challenge with the latest palette over at The Colour Room so now my challenge is in nice & early {it's only due in next Thursday}as yesterday I got mine in a couple of hours late & was really bummed about that...

Background paper - Jillibean Soup {Talk Soup - Cup of Yak} Printed papers - Jillibean Soup Old World Cabbage Stew Papers {Diced Tomatoes} & Summer Squash Soup {Gold Potatoes}DCWV Green Cardstock,  Tissue paper misted with pink & green glimmer mists, Webster's Sparklers, Jenni Bowlin butterfly, Making Memories Fronds , glitter flower, rhinestone brads & Vintage Findings Pearls, Prima Pearl, LCS flowers, American Crafts wooden thickers, Dear Lizzy bloomers ribbon {rolled into a flower}, scalloped ribbon (LSC), mini frame - Pink Paislee, October Afternoon journal sticker, white thread {13}
Have my sewing machine out now at the end of my desk so am stitching my layouts a bit more.

I glimmer misted the tissue paper with 2 different shades of green & 2 different shades of pink glimmer/Maya Mist before scrunching it up & gathering it behind my photo.
Left a nice thick white border around my photo.

And added a teeny bit of hand-journaling to the base of the page.
If  you refer back to Jessy's card you will see that I have followed the design quite closely but also added my own twist, which is the frill at the top & bottom of the photo, using tissue & glimmer mists.

I made the flower using American Crafts Dear Lizzy Bloomers with a Webster's Sparkler in the centre.  I love the addition of the frill as I think it adds real "punch" to the layout yet is very light & feminine.  You can view my layout on The Colour Room Wall here, where I have mentioned Pixie Dust Paperie too.  Loves XO

Helen, Darling layout. You're very talented. I couldn't find an email address so I thought I would answer your question about my plate wall through your blog. I used the plate hooks that have a spring on the back. They are 4 hooks that hook around the back of the plate. Then you just use a simple little nail, and use the hanger on the wall. I got mine at Hobby Lobby for about $1.99 a piece (lame that they were more expensive than some of my plates!) Good luck and feel free to email me if you have any other questions! skierdouglass@gmail.com!
Have a great day! Mandy Douglass
