World Cup RAK, Scraproom Storage & a couple of Layouts

As I write it is half-time during the final FIFA World Cup match between Spain & The Netherlands. The score is nil/nil! It's anyone's guess as to the outcome! With the whole experience drawing to a close I have been feeling rather sad...so I thought..."Why not keep the feeling alive a little longer & spread the fever??!!" So I decided to put together a World Cup RAK for y'all ;-D

One lucky winner {local or international} will receive a genuine SA vuvuzela, 4 FIFA endorsed official licenced products {keyring, bangle & 2 pens}, some real SA sweeties {& we make nyummy ones here believe me!} & some tourist booklets to encourage you to come & visit me!

There is no place in the world I'd rather have been for the last 5 weeks than right here in SOUTH AFRICA soaking up the great World Cup vibe & benefitting from the great organization & all the extras that have been accessible to the fans, we have had a GREAT time!!

All you need to do is leave a comment on this post AND link this post up on your blog {on any one of your posts} encouraging your readers to join in! Easy huh?! I will chose a random winner next Sunday. And below is a photo of my new shelf. I had it 'specially made to fit my storage jars & my turquoise tool tubs.

And here is another photo of the other side of my desk {opposite the shelf} which I have filled with more of the stuff I like to have accessible. My studio is less "slick" looking now than I had originally planned,because I'm not enjoying having absolutely everything put away & this is infinitely more practical.

In South Africa there is next to nothing in the way of genuine scrapbooking storage so we all need to improvise or custom-make. I found these "quick-clips" at the Hypermarket this weekend so my next project is to drill them & fill them! For locals who are interested, you can find them in the power tools section & unfortunately these were the last 2 in yellow. All the others are black. They are going for R60 each.

And now for a couple of layouts done recently. I had these fun photos taken in a booth when we went to the Fun Fair for Cami's 10th birthday. As you can see I used all my favourite things:- Bazzill cardstock, AC Thickers & a touch of Basic Grey Marrakesh, together with a Collage Press diecut & some Prima pearls.

I couldn't resist using a bit of Prima packaging! {see above bottom RHS} & the chipboard die-cuts are from a recent Cocoa Daisy kit {Lilly Bee maybe?}

I just thought up the title as I was working on the page! Chelsea & I had so much fun that day that it just made me really want my little girl back! {for her to be small again}.

I bought the ribbon & crochet braid online recently {Prima or Webster's I think} & had fun twisting it up into a flower & adding some dimension by ruffling it under the title. I held it together in the centre by piercing through all the layers with my spike then pushing a giant K & Co. brad through it all. Easy Peasy...

The next layout also uses photos from the photo booth at the Fun Fair, but this time I cut them up separately. I used an EK Success "I Do" embossed cardstock for the background {how gorgeous?!} & some Spun Sugar Glimmer mist sprayed down the centre panel then cut up a Crate Paper {Lillian Collection - Delight} die-cut paper down either side & the original Fun Fair magnetic swipe-cards at opposite corners. Underneath them I used an old American Crafts striped print.

The alphas & badge are "Dear Lizzy" by American Crafts & I enjoyed sprinkling a selection of buttons down the middle too & adding a couple of dots of bling to each Fun Fair card too!

Still can't resist tearing! Was a bit nervous to hand-journal after not scrapbooking for a while but it turned out fine...

I have NO problem with glue-dotting buttons onto some layouts without stitching them, but do stitch them on if that's more the look I'm after. Here they are meant to be "free-falling" so I left them unstitched intentionally...

I absolutely LOVED creating these layouts! I really, really, really WANT to spend more time in this room scrapbooking! Something always seems to get in the way & with school starting this week it is back to the run-around. Let's hope I can get something achieved in the mornings between dealing with the plumber {installing another geyser} & the electrician {switching on certain lights plunges us into utter darkness!} & so the list goes on...

Heehee - well am glad you girls are all keen! Just remember to PLEASE link this post up on your blogs 'cos I am on an all out drive now to drum up some more comment support {LOL!} now that I am back into scrappy gear! Oh dear Pearl! You must be pretty tired but that goal FINALLY made it all worth it & the closing ceremony was A-W-E some...The clip thingie gets drilled on to the wall & the yellow loops you see are rubbery & slightly stretchy/flexible so that you can push scissors, paint-brushes, etc into each one as seen in the pictures above {on the packaging}. Unfortunately I took the photos with a flash so they are not very well focused - soz for that ;-D
