Right Here...Right Now...

Late now & too tired for too much serious thinking so adapting a popular format for today.

Outside my window:- pitch black (after 10p.m)...the days fly by full of action. I am grateful to be busy & healthy & capable of all that is demanded from me.

Thankful for:- my beautiful new home & how happy it has made my children & my cats especially. Who knew they felt so oppressed?! Now they are all flourishing in their own space.

Wearing:- my ever faithful velour trackpants, squishy new Woolies slippers & my "Moody but Marvelous" sleep shirt from Monsieur Prisay...

Noticing that:- I can't take this pc chair much longer - but am determined to find a white swivel chair & not ruin my scraproom decor with a black "office-type" one {equivalent to finding a needle in a haystack here...}

Reading:- The April edition of OK Magazine { 'cos it's always a couple of months behind here}. Don't usually buy it anymore {no time to read it} but who can resist a cover with Kerry Katona & Peter Andre together?!

Thinking about:- Locating my External Hard Drive that I unpacked the other day & now seems to have disappeared. Delighted to have finally found my underwear & contact lenses though lol...{yes, really...}

Pondering:- You know...I don't even want to go there...

Around the house:- Boxes, boxes, boxes... I have a serious aversion to them. Especially big ones.

From the kitchen:- Ouma's Condensed milk rusks dunked in my tea {I know...High GI & I've put on a kg...}

Loving right now:- Almost zero traffic noise, zero humidity & my new boxed set of Melrose Place!

Creating:- A refuge for myself & my loved ones. Working simultaneously on all rooms & loving the transformation.

Planning:- Watching all the World Cup Football matches, LIVE in Durbs & on the box & our annual Ushaka evening dolphin show. Less "taxi-driving" {hopefully...} now that the 5 week school holiday is almost upon us.

Shooting:-Silly fun photos with my new Fuji Instax {Polaroid} camera & besotted with it. Still feeling uncomfortable with my new Tamron lens & taking "worse than ever" photos as I experiment in manual mode.

Chaneling his inner Justin Bieber...

Your house is sounding like it was just made for you all including the cats. LOL. Hmmm Melrose Place - we have just bought seasons 1-5 of One Tree Hill. Just love that show.

I'm way behind in my blog reading, so I may have missed a few of your posts (hope to catch up though!). I'm not sure how to change my settings to the comments display... but will investigate.
As for shooting in manual. You might have picked up in my own blogposts my journey (still in the beginning stages) of shooting in manual. I was very frustrated and discouraged for a good long while, but I just couldn't go back to auto, though I wanted to. When I got a good shot in manual it was just SO GOOD, and nothing in auto could compare. I've stuck it out, and I've slowly but surely improved and I'm getting better photos more often now. I'm still improving, still working on it, still learning. Just so you know it's not "just you" experiencing this.

Yes somehow this week everything seems brighter...must be because DH is back home & school holidays are about to start. Looking forward to kicking things down a notch for a change. Thanks for the encouragement Diana...I have heard & gathered from all my reading that you have to get worse to get better so I am persevering & as you say it is so satisfying to actually set up a good shot in manual, & does seem a whole heap better so I doubt I will ever revert back to full AUTO although sometimes I switch back to auto if I am really battling. It does seem like a very long road but I guess I have come quite far already if I look back at how totally clueless I was when I started!
