Back to reality tomorrow morning...Easter is over, eggs are eaten & altogether I am feeling worse for wear as a result! So much for my resolution of not eating any eggs...far too much chocolate in da house at the moment!!
We were here again this weekend. Looks idyllic? TBH it's a bit creepy...desolate with an angry sea as far as the eye can see. The weather was unpredictable & rainy yet humid & windless...
I had no idea I was so impatient, intolerant & selfish but spending a weekend with a stage 5 Alzheimer's sufferer brought that home to me...I now know I could never earn extra money as a care-giver!
As a result of all the stress I had all my camera settings wrong & took the most hideous photos!
The Easter Hunt was a shambles & only got underway at 4.30p.m!
I hate that I made such a mess of this photo series that I so look forward to each year...
Anyway, despite feeling exhausted by the end of it this weekend was a good thing on many levels...
I sent some goodies back to Cape Town with our visitors...
And enjoyed the presentation process although I only had one ballpoint pen with me!
I recently cut out all the images from last year's Sassafras papers & have used a lot of them on my projects lately as a result...
I decided to make a card at the last minute & didn't even have a sheet of cardstock with me so had to use a sheet of A4 computer paper the kids had brought with to colour on!
I used some product packaging for the "printed paper" on the front & covered up the words with offcut strips {I took a bundle of offcut strips with me to work on another project that I'll show you soon...}
I threaded some gingham ribbon through the hole already there at the top of the product packaging & layered some Sassafras elements together with some 7Gypsies sentiment stickers & a bee that I've had in my stash so long I have no idea where it came from!

That is a very beautiful card!! I love the colors. Those goodies are so beautifully made. Love the idea of you cutting the sassafrass frames to act up as name tags. It looks really good & boy those ribbons are just so pretty. I have soft spots for polka dots ribbon :)
Funny how the photos "look" idyllic but the reality was quite different... I know how that can be... .

Hope you get your keys thats so exciting. Alzheimers is a dreadful thing my Dad died of it having had it for several years its debilitating, degrading, and everything else.Your cards & parcels look stunning.

Thanks! Just off to get the keys now at 2p.m & get the electricity reconnected!! Somehow I have an overwhelming urge to be creative in the midst of chaos so now I have the dining room table filled with art supplies & busy trying to squeeze in another project between packing boxes!
