That's Better!

I don't know if the internet is on a go-slow tonight or if my pc has a virus but I could spend my retirement here at this rate! I have been working for hours creating a new private blog to act as my diary & it has taken forever & a day. You will notice that my sidebar is now very clean as I have transferred all my "Blogs I follow" & links over to Contemplating Wonder, my new blog. It is so pretty that I am quite sad that I can't show you! I decided, seeing as I plan to spend a lot of my time there, that I should make it nice for myself & ended up getting a bit carried away as I am slightly more experienced than I was when I initiated Scrap Addict.

I have made some slight customisations here too! Various colour & text font & size changes & a pretty new header that I love. So this is "the new me" for the time being. I still have all my information over at CW so no need to clutter up Scrap Addict with it all. It is less busy & altogether simpler as a result & reflects progression for me now that my blog is almost a year old. I am sure now of what I want to do here & much more directional with my scrapbooking style & goals. It has been a long road for me so far with both my scrapping & my blogging but I am feeling a lot more relaxed about it now that I know what I want & what I like & dislike for myself.

I have deleted my Followers gadget with no disrespect to those of you who were kind enough to join. I have decided that I don't need it as I have genuine followers who have never "joined" & others were "on the list" but never anywhere to be seen on my blog, so at the end of the day I don't see the point of it. My Live Traffic Feed,Clustr Map & Sitemeter tell me who is visiting my blog. As time passes we all learn more & decide what is best for us & this is best for me. I would rather not have an affiliation in a single gesture as relationships are borne out of mutual reciprocation not the click of a button.

I am not a Facebook fan set on acquiring an obscene amount of "friends" to show the world how popular I am. Give me genuine relationships any day over hundreds of names & faces of people who I have very little to do with. I have developed many friendships as a result of this blog so don't need an "indicator" that I can see to be glaring flawed. Some followers "joined" months ago but have still never said hello which is inexplicable to me. I have also unjoined {I think...lol} the "Blogs I follow" because of the way that I have restructured my blog & moved my contacts to my private blog so please do not take this personally as it is meaningless to the blogs I still follow. You know I follow you because I am not a stalker ;-D

So that is all my Saturday Housekeeping for now. I am hoping for a long rest followed by immersion in all things paper...here's to a creative weekend {or in my case a creative Sunday at least!}

Nothing wrong with a tidy up and have done the same with mine deleting lots of blinkies etc. Good luck with your new blog and hope it works out the way you want it to.

I admire your clean up! Wish I could it myself, but I think I'm just not that kind of person...Love your new header (and wonder how you did that!).

Cool new look, I will miss the links that you had though, I was lazy enough not to copy them but just used your list, every now and then.

Gee thanks for the heap of comments. I'm older & wiser now with this blogging lark now & with my bloggy birthday coming up I want to start my "new year" having learnt from my past one ;-D

Oops forgot to say "Thanks!" for the header compliments. It was really easy - I just downloaded that image from the WP blog then selected it as the image to go behind my text then coloured my header background to the same as my blog background ;-D Nothing fancy but it's me right now.
