Photoshop, Photopaper, all in all a good day!

I finally got this! No space to upload it yet (don't ask...) but this is progress, nee?!

I really had no choice any longer, what with Picasa munching up my last 400 photographs & now refusing to accept ANYTHING. Sure it is due to the lack of disc space (the not accepting anything part) but the 400 disappearing photographs is just unacceptable. I can't rely on software as unstable as that, even if it IS free...I will keep it for now...for e mailing to my blog (it centres the photos whereas My Pictures gets them to the left - hate that...) & the collages are great. But photos will be IN AND OUT - no waiting in there to be printed like this time - no chance of disappearing again, nope! And, Heidi, you genius, I will be COPYING the folder first, LOL!

Despite my affiliation to Picasa, it IS a love/hate relationship there & I still think I need to "get with the program" at last & learn the ropes of PSE. I hate it when something is a "grey area" to me...so I am up for the challenge! Looking forward to all the learning involved, but hopefully it will be frustration free! (is anything new frustration free???)

Also found this...not exactly the weight & type of paper I am used to but the same manufacturer, slightly more expensive than last time - despite our strengthening currency - but that goes without saying in Africa...nothing ever gets cheaper here! All that gets reduced here is our spending power...Can't wait to try out my new photo paper but can't edit any more photos until I get Picasa up & running again or get to grips with Photoshop...always a new challenge!

Am going to be working on some layouts for Journaling Junkie this weekend, coupled with some quality time at my scrap desk...at last...so hope you all have a weekend full of all the stuff that rejuvenates & re-inspires...

Play nicely now.
I love my PSE5, have downloaded many brushes and tutorials from the 'net.
Want to see how you get along.
It took me 1 year to get most of the basics, ha ha.

Good luck with photoshop. I have Photoshop 7 (the full one) and am still learning!

I am also still struggling with the basics...maybe Stef should write us a tutorial.

Let's just hope PSE7 lasts a while longer...very clever how Adobe keep updating it with newer versions to keep people buying...I didn't realise there was ANOTHER PSE7 - I did a bit of research & this was the only one available here apart from the Professional version CS3 which I consulted a pro photographer on & he said I would never use the extra functions for home use. I haven't even got it loaded yet but it did come with a booklet & I have heard that the online tutorials are easier to follow than the manual. I suppose it is like anything - overwhelming at first but second nature when you get the hang of it - much like blogging.

Well, good luck with PSE ... because it has more features, it will be a tad more complicated; but I'm sure you will get your head round it fast ... also, a techy should be able to retrieve your lost photos ... just need the right software. Sounds like you also need more space and memory, altho storing less photos at a time will help a lot ... but even PSE will not be problem free without the right comp specs ...

So glad you took the plunge and bought Photoshop, I'm sure once you have the hang of it there will be no stopping you. Enjoy!
