EXPLORER vs FIREFOX

Blogger, Blogger, wherefore art thou Blogger???? We have been in need of you for several days now & no sign of you...Perhaps you are busy working diligently behind the scenes...let's hope so, because at this rate I won't have any followers left by the time they can access my blog again!!!

Okay - so a lot of you know what I am on about & I can only say THANK YOU for your patience & perseverance & for the many e mails I have received regarding this issue. It makes me feel loved & wanted,LOL! ;-D

My advice is this ;- Go look here to see what my friend Desire has discovered and here (given to me by Monique). Dump Explorer - install Firefox. Out with the old - in with the new - technology waits for no one!!!

I have been using Mozilla (Firefox) for 6 months now & can tell you first hand that it is a better browser. It picks up more stuff - it fights it's way in - and it warns you when to stay away. Install it now. It's free. It's quick. And please let me know if you experience any more problems with opening my blog or if the problem is now sorted ;-D

all this talk of mozilla etc is frightening me - just when I think I should make an entrance into blog land I realise that I'm not equipped - the technology is just too advanced for an old fogie who is self taught on computers......

We actually use Opera - and it's far superior to Explorer. DH occasionally uses Firefox, but i find it slower than Opera.

And slow drives me NUTS.

sounds interesting. thanks for the comment on my new blog and yes you did inspire me to make the change. You asked what HTML text I edited. Well I actually went into the Blogger Help and there were a couple of You Tube videos on customizing the template. But I basically widened the blog header and the main text area by looking through the HTML and finding the relevant section (eg under the Blog Header heading there is 'width 634 pixels' and I just overtyped it with 724 pixels. I only did basic stuff like that - I'm not that techno. I hope that made sense.

Hi Helen. Thanks for sharing this valuable tip. It was only for a few hours on one specific day quite a while back that I could not access my blog, but has since been sorted by blogger and I visit blog friends with ease. We must however keep in mind that Blogger is absolutely free and we should appreciate and perhaps be a bit more patient when things don't work perfectly as Blogger has always fixed their issues and I can speak of experience as I started my blog way back in January 2006, growing with Blogger. Hugs from Desire

So, did you have the google friend and follow widget? That WAS what was causing most of the chaos. Wherever I go, people seem to say the same thing, dump internet explorer, yet this browser is still the most popular among people searching the web. A blog needs to open with all browsers!
Believe it or not, each browser available has certain strengths that others do not. For instance, when posting, dragging a link to the compose tab is better using Explorer because it retains all of the code information along with the link itself. Of course this only matters if you are trying to create search engine friendy posts to gather clicks from Google.

I have been blogging for 3 years now, and believe me, unless you are just using text, problems will arise every now and again ... esp. with JAVA and outside script. They are more vulnerable to errors and even site hacking. When a problem arrises on any web page, including blogs, it is not the browser, but something inside the code itself.
Yes Firefox is a safer and better browser, but remember that just because YOU are using it, does not mean a great deal of your readers are too! Always check you blog now and again using multiple browsers :-)

Why do you have 2 Feedjit widgets??

Get rid of ONE of them because having two open at the same time can create browser BUZZ too ;-)
